I got this mat because there was no where I could place my sat nav on the windscreen without it blocking my view. To be honest I had doubts about it sitting securely on my dashboard top which is curved and stippled. The mat is not heavy and not sticky. I thought that a heavy sat nav (6 inch screen) would be top heavy and therefore unstable. However, happily I have been proved wrong. It sits quite securely where i placed it and I have tested it over a few days. Despite stops and starts in everyday driving it stays put. Minimal vibration. So for the price I can say its a good buy. It also looks neat as its simply a flat, black mat, not a bulky, weighted version like some.

Bought this to use a a base to mount my Road Angel device. The mat is quite stable and doesnt move around even under heavy cornering. You can improve the 'stickiness' by cleaning the underneath with a wet-wipe and this helps to improve the friction. Can be left in direct sun without issues and is better than a fixed mount if you transfer your gadgets between vehicles. Well recommended.

Works well, stays connected to attached device, bought to hold a Sat Nav on the dashboard as part of driving lesson. The mat holds very well, just sat on the dashboard. the only time I've had it move is when a learner takes a turn to suddenly. For normal driving, it stays where you put it.

This mat provides a perfect alternative for mounting your GPS/satnav in your vehicle. The mat holds your satnav nice and still on the dashboard, rather than having to fix it to your windscreen.

The top of my car dashboard provided a perfect flat base for this mount holder, but it was completely useless! It's advertised as suitable for "almost all GPS Sat Navs" but this is utter nonsense! This soft silicone rubber mat is too thin and floppy to keep a 6 inch TomTom Sat Nav upright on the move. It rocks from side to side when going round corners and even the slightest acceleration - say to join traffic at a roundabout - overturns the TomTom and sends both it and this ridiculous mount flying off the dashboard!! It may work with a small mobile phone, but to advertise this as suitable for TomTom and other GPS Sat Navs is absurd. They are far too heavy for this flimsy mount to keep upright. Even some of the larger phones depicted in the advert would go flying within seconds in real traffic conditions. This is the worst product I have ever bought on Amazon.

Bought this with the hope my Tomtom would stay put when giving satnav driving lessons to my pupils. A good quality mat but unfortunately for me the Tomtom keeps tilting forward and almost rolling off the dash when setting off too fast. I have to keep catching it which isn’t good for a learner to deal with. I think it could also depend on how tilted the satnav is when you mount it. Tilt it too vertical and it won’t grip, tilt it back and you can’t see the screen too well. Not practical for me. The problem for me is that my dash has a forward curve and a slightly textured matte surface so the suction doesn’t work as well as it would on a flatter or smoother surface. It’s just a shiny (underneath) rubber mat basically and should suction itself to the surface of the dash with friction rather than be stuck down with a sticky disc but the suction was not good enough on my dash, I drive a Ford Fiesta. It’s a great idea in principle but it depends on your dash surface, it would work well I think if you have a smoother or flatter dash as I did feel the odd time where it did grip however, for me, it was the ‘odd’ time and short lived. Additionally it gets dusty underneath quite quickly which also reduces the strength of suction and it would need cleaning/washing regularly. I am now looking at a better option.

Used this ultra-thin dashboard mount in my wife’s car to hold my Road Angel, and it worked just as well as in mine. En vacances dans les Pyrénées, le taux d'UV est grimpé à 10; la luminosité était très forte et la chaleur difficilement supportable. Le disque autocollant, qui supportait mon GPS, s'est décollé, faisant chuter l'ensemble sur la console centrale, sans dommages. Ce tapis caoutchouté offre une adhérence impeccable pour supporter un de mes GPS (5 ou 7 pouces), route sinueuse ou non !! Un achat utile et qui évitera certainement à beaucoup de gens de perdre leur matériel !
