Hycote Fast Drying Aerosol Car Spray Paint, Gloss White, 400 ml

I needed a couple if these to respray some chrome bathroom lights that had started to go rusty. Coverage is really good as is the nice uniform finish. Being quick dry also made the job a lot easier. All in all I was really happy with the quality if these sprays.

Pretty decent paint. I am painting on to plastic so I used the same brands primer first. Paint stuck ok. As with any spray can need to be very careful to not over spray in any area as runs will happen. Any unprimed area takes a lot of coats to hide any underlying colour. The glossiness doesn’t feel fantastic - not sure how much of that is the surface material but would say the finish feels more like a vinyl silk type white rather than a brilliant white gloss. Having said that this was a bit lower price range than some so maybe that was a factor.

Excellent paint. Touch dry very quickly and re-coatable with in mins. Easy to get a good finish and covers well.

I used this paint to restore an old 80's road bike with great results. I'm no stranger to spray painting and I know you need a good aerosol if you want to get good results without clumps and splutter from the nozzle. This was my first time using Hycote Gloss White and it did the job perfectly. As you probably know, the paint is half the job. Invest in some good sandpaper and work your way through the grades down to a fine grit to get things nice and smooth. I cleaned well using a brake cleaner to remove any grease. I primed first then applied around 4 coats, allowing a good 15 minutes between each one. It dried well in between coats on a sunny day, though you might need to leave it up to 20 minutes depending on the temperature. I left to bake in the hot sun for a few days. Ideally I'd have needed to give this longer as an accidental bump showed me the paint was a little softer than I'd have hoped, but a week later it was solid. I then applied a clear coat to finish. I was pleased with the finish and would use this paint again. Hopefully the pictures speak for themselves.
