An essential part of my workout kit
I've wanted to use a dip belt since my first day at the gym when I saw one being used by a group of, admittedly, much stronger men. At the time I couldn't even lift my own body weight, let alone contemplate adding extra, but less than a year on I felt ready for the challenge. I was advised that I should only begin to use a dip belt when I could manage three sets of twelve reps without too much difficulty (which applied to dips, pull-ups, chins and/or squats). While not everyone will agree with this, I found it to be a useful guide. I like to get the best deal whenever I can: I would rather walk for 45 minutes than pay £1.70 for a bus ticket, and I typically go for the cheapest incarnation of any product. In this case, I made an exception. There are cheaper dip belts on the market, but I felt that the claims made by Elite Body Squad, and its massive number of positive reviews, made this belt worth paying a little bit extra for. I wasn't disappointed. I could tell immediately that I was dealing quality product. The neoprene belt felt sturdy, the stitching appeared flawless, and the chain seemed fit for purpose (not too big, not too small). I was concerned that the belt might not fit me. I have a 26" waist which, let's be honest, is somewhat atypical for a bodybuilder (we all have to start somewhere!). Nonetheless, I was surprised to find that it fit comfortably and that I could use it without difficulty. I feel that this is a 'one size fits most' product. The neoprene part is just over 31" long and consists of three sections that are fairly rigid; in my experience the rigidity helps to make it more comfortable. I imagine that the extent to which the belt conforms to you is determined by your shape and the amount of weight you use. The chain is 30" long, and each of the carabiner clips adds an extra 2", making the functional length of the chain just under 34". Depending on the style of your weight disks, I think you could fit quite a few on the chain without endangering your chances of having children. The belt takes up about the same amount of space as a Netbook computer when folded and weighs just under 600g: enough to feel substantial while being light enough for my long walks to and from the gym (like I said, I'm too cheap to pay for a bus ticket). It arrived in a polythene bag which I replaced with a neoprene pouch from the Pound Shop, designed for tablet computers. It makes an ideal case and stops me from having to worry about the belt getting bashed or misshapen in my bag. I have had the belt for about two weeks now and I've used it for dips, squats, chins and pull-ups. It is surprisingly comfortable to use and it has helped me to move on from the strength plateau I'd found myself on. So far, I have only used weights of 15kg (again, we all have to start somewhere), but I'm confident that it would be able to hold far more. I will update this periodically when I advance to heavier weights. Elite Body Squad's hard-sell descriptions can sound a little farfetched and I was initially sceptical. I am glad that I took the chance and I am very happy with how the belt has performed. If it suddenly falls apart on me, I will promptly update my review, but at this time I can wholeheartedly recommend it.

Prepare to get strong. And stared at in the gym.
Very impressed with this and it's also the first dipping belt i've ever purchased (although i've used many different ones in gyms over the years). I'm currently doing dips with 40kg added and it's holding up perfectly well. I'm looking forward to taking it up to 60kg and beyond over the coming months which i think it'll handle well. If the chain snaps with that weight then (not that it should), in a way, i'll have achieved my goal. And the chain can easily be replaced with a thicker one. The belt is very comfortable to wear and doesn't pinch the skin. It's lightweight and folds up very flat so you can pack it in your gym bag and it takes up hardly any space, unlike a thick leather weight belt which tend to be heavy and require rolling up. I like the build quality of this belt and it feels like a quality product even though it's fairly light. As a bonus I like the company name and the branding is subtle, not screaming at you in giant letters. I'd definitely try some of this brand's other products based on this dipping belt and I feel proud of my purchase - definitely glad I didn't go with a cheap option

Great dipping belt, comfortable and strong.
Great dipping belt have used it for dipping and pull-ups/chin-ups. I have a 33in waist and this belt fits perfectly wrapping round about 80% of me makes it very comfortable. Being neoprene it doesn't dig in at all like some leather belts can. The large padded back of the belt significantly helps distribute weight reducing the load on the lower back. The longer length of the chain allows multiple plates to be used at once and for them hang below your groin without them being distracting or uncomfortable. I use it regularly with 2x20kg plates and there has been no signs of stretching or weakening at all seems well made however have not tried it with much more than 40kg but the belt has given no impression of failing. The only slight problem with the belt is that it can become loose once the chain goes a little slack when manoeuvring or if you have a tendency to grip the weights with your knees. I'd highly recommend this belt.

Great purchase
I thought I had already written my opinion, but cannot find it. No problem, it is better that I do it now that I have used the belt. The item arrived promptly and I live in Spain, very well priced belt and shipping costs. The seller sent an email one or two days before arrival to clarify that the belt might smell a bit when opening, but it should fade away. Did not notice any rubber smell myself. I have used the belt with 45 and 50Kg today, no problem. Will update you guys in the future if I add any heavier weights. Really comfortable stuff and looks like it's very well made and should last forever. 8th July 2014 Follow up: I have tested the belt up to 55Kg added weight for a 1RM pullup (see video attached). It has worked comfortably and held the weight without a problem. I will further update when adding 60Kg in about 4 weeks time.

A great dipping belt
Recently bought this dipping belt and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking into buying one. The quality is extremely good. The chain feels solid and has been easily holding 16KG kettlebells whilst doing tricep dips. I expect it to easily hold 20kg KB when I get to that level. The comfort is excellent. The belt is well padded and sits tightly around my waste, the clips make it a sinch to hook up or release the weight you will use as well. So glad I purchased this belt to help my own progress but also due to the quality of the product. Would and will highly recommend this product to anyone looking to buying a dipping belt. I have only just bought the best and used it 3 times. So I will come back with a further update to report on the durability of the product in a few weeks time.
