Lightweight, great photos, easy to use
I bought this camera a little over a year ago (not through Amazon, but for no particular reason). I wanted a lightweight camera that takes good photos and this is it! I love that I don't have to remove the battery in order to charge it. I'm usually surprised with how good the quality of the photos is. The battery lasts a really long time for me. I hardly ever have to charge it, even if I leave the camera to sit for long periods of time.Everything about the controls are fairly self-explanatory. I feel lucky to have such a good little camera at the price (~$80 when I purchased it).I have a pricier camera for paid work and my own art work. This one is great though for having along on a fun day with friends and being able to relax that I'm not going to destroy or lose my expensive camera. The only thing that bugs me sometimes but isn't enough to lose a star from my review is that I find it rather easy to -almost- accidentally delete photos when scrolling through them. Luckily the camera does ask first to confirm, and the button to confirm the delete isn't easy to press by accident. Thanks, Sony, for a great product!!!

Good for the Pocket
My last cheap digital camera was a Sony and it lasted for years. This has a larger screen, which is slightly grainy, but once loaded on the computer the photos are superb. There are a number of options on the menu to increase quality to maximum. For me, it is ideal for general shots for keeping in touch with family and friends on Facebook. Very lightweight. The macro function is automatic. Had no trouble in low lighting, and the flash seems well distributed giving a nice overall shot. You have to disconnect a lead from the charger to download onto your computer, and you must also download Sony's own downloading programme (which is a bit basic) as per the instructions given. The video aspect is fairly good for general purposes. Does not come with a memory card or protective bag. I used the old memory card from my previous camera. A quality pocket camera which delivers what you'd expect for the price.

Stylish, lightweight, suitable for non-tech-savy people
I bought this as a birthday gift for my mother, who was previously using her iPad to take photographs (much to the annoyance of fellow human beings across the planet). She was becoming increasingly irate with the poor quality of her iPad photographs and complaining about the mysterious red line that appeared on every single photo (this was her red leather iPad cover partially obscuring the lens). Anyway, all iPad based woes are now long forgotten as she has this handy little camera instead. She required assistance to set the time, date and language though my mother requires assistance in telling the difference between a telephone and a TV remote so I wouldn't worry too much about that. The photo quality is good, it's stylish, lightweight, sturdy and easy to use.

Excellent little camera
Excellent little camera for the cost. Have used it a number of times and have absolutely no issues with it. Pictures are crystal clear given that they are 20m pixels. The only downside I have experienced (as with all digital cameras) is the size of each picture/file - in this case typically over 7mb which can cause a bit of an issue if trying to email them. I use it to take pictures of items in a charity shop in France (Fripaffaires) so tend to reduce the size before uploading them. It's small and easily fits into a pocket so from that point of view is easier to handle than my DLSR.Overall, very pleased.

Does it's job.
I was looking for a new digital camera to take with me on journeys, and this seemed to fit the bill!Pros:Great for outdoors, photos are very crisp and vibrant.Small and compact, easy to take out and about.Easy to function, and no complicated menus/buttons to worry about, just press and go.Easy to transfer images from the camera to my PC.Cons:The battery life could be better, I find myself charging it a lot after not using it for a while. The camera quality isn't as great indoors/with artificial light.I find myself not using the zoom function a lot as it diminishes the quality of the photo. All in all, it's a good camera for the price you pay.You are not going to get a better camera unless you up your price range a lot.

Ony lasted 18 months!!!!!!!!So do not buy
This camera only lasted 18 months before the software packed up.It is in for repair which may be OK if the price is right. It started off being a good camera but ended up being a nightmare. My advice is to try a Nikon A10 which has , so far , more robust software . Nikon are camera makers and it shows up in the software . I have replaced the Sony with an A10 so we will see how long this one lasts. The Nikon is more expensive but I hope it will be worth it . I don't believe in all these insurance policies you can but to extend the warranty . I have bought many things that have lasted and lasted . Had I paid for insurance on all thses it woulde have cast a fortune by now.I do not recommend this camera , there is something lacking in the software department, it is not robust enough.I was a programmer once upon a time and can tell the signs of lacking robustness.DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA , BUY A NIKON OR A CANON .12th Sept 2019Having complained to Amazon about this camera ( which was 18months old when the software packed up ) and told them that warranties are not legally binding and that you can expect a Sony camera to last much longer than 18 months they sent me a brand new camera for no charge. WELL DONE AMAZON . Also I had sent the broken camera to the Manchester repair company using the Amazon system whereby they reimburse you for the postage and the return postage if you decide the repair cost is not worth it .In the event I had the broken camera returned and in perfect working order for no charge. WELL DONE AMAZON.The fault was , in my opinion, was the software because the new software on the returned camera had had it's date changed . This indicates that the software had been reinstalled .It remains to be seen how long these cameras last.
