I've been using the BRITA Marella water filter jug for about a month now and I'm really impressed with it. It's a great option for anyone who wants to improve the taste of their tap water, but doesn't want to spend a fortune on bottled water. The jug itself is well-designed and fits easily in a standard UK fridge. It has a capacity of 2.4 litres, which is enough for me to get through a day without having to refill it. The filter is easy to change and the jug is dishwasher-safe, so it's very low-maintenance. The water that comes out of the jug tastes noticeably cleaner and crisper than tap water. It's not quite as good as spring water, but it's a lot closer than I expected. I've found that it makes a big difference to the taste of tea and coffee, and it's also great for drinking on its own. In terms of cost, the BRITA Marella is much cheaper than bottled water. A pack of 3 filter cartridges costs around £10, which will last you about 3 months - this is a fraction of how much I used to spend on bottled water and is more environmentally friendly, as it reduces plastic waste. Bought this to replace a previous Brita Marella jug, which I'd been pleased with. I would say the 'Graphite' colour of the lid is more Black than Grey, but this is not an issue for me. The flip on the lid allows for easy filling and the jug fits very well in the fridge door. The indicator on the lid will also alert you when the cartridge needs changing. The main difference between this jug and my old one, which was exactly the same model, is that Brita have now introduced what they call their 'Perfect Fit' system for the cartridges. They have now put a small valve at the bottom of the funnel that was not there on the old jugs, there was just a hole. This is supposedly to ensure the cartridge fits in correctly, but in my case meant that the Wilko cartridges, that were supposed to fit all Maxtra type jugs and worked fine on my old one, either filtered no water through at all or it was just one very slow drip at a time and took forever to fill. Changed it over for a Brita cartridge and the water filtered through fine, and much quicker, like it is supposed to. The instructions do state that if no water is flowing through, or is flowing through slowly, then it may be that the cartridge hasn’t connected to the valve correctly, and they recommend pushing down on it gently. So no problems with the jug itself, but beware if buying any of the cheaper cartridges as they may not fit the latest models with the valve correctly.

This has literally changed my life. As someone who hates tap water and my home providing beautiful fresh, soft water but stinking of chlorine I spent a lot of money on bottles of water. My daughter had purchased one of these for herself and her children and I tried it when visiting I was so impressed I immediately ordered my own one. I got one with 3 filters as I didnt want it to end up being another purchase used for the first wee while then put in a cupboard. Let me tell you this eont be the case, I fill it up, allow the filter time to empty then fill again and our in the fridge, next morning I have a big jug full of perfectly cold, crisp, beautiful tasting water. Do follow the instructions as i didnt do the first two cycles that was recommended and to throw it away, it tasted metallic but after a couple of days (full cycles) its wonderful, no bubbles attaching to the side of your glass as is often the case with tap water. I bought a nice big water bottle and fill it up daily to take out with me and even my kids are choosing water over juice now One filter lasts approx a month which is great value and the handy display on top let's you know when its time to renew filter so you dont forget. Jug looks really nice, I bought the blue one and would look fine on the table as well. Highly recommend this product

I had one of the Brita classic jugs for many years and finally decided to upgrade. This new design Brita took me by surprise with the neat design features - especially the rather clever 'time to change the filter' smart detector - would be intrigued to know how it works. It was nice to see in the product manual that the new design filters remove lead, as I have a lead pipe under my house for the last bit of mains water delivery before the taps, so this jug backed by Brita's high technical standards does exactly what I need. The first taste after the setup process was superb, I had no idea my tap water could taste that good! It also makes for excellent tasting filter coffee. My only downside is that it's rather slow to fill, quite a bit slower than the classic jug and old style filters - on the other hand, maybe they're doing more, so perhaps that's not too big a price to pay. The capacity is good but also a bit less than the classic jug. Very good value though I think overall.

Drug quality was fine. Water quality ones filled was nice. Easy to fill nice design fits in fridge door shelf easily too tall for shelves inside fridge though. Good for one person to use but ended up buying a bigger one as this was not sufficient size for us. Once lit is closed, I had no issues with it leaking when power in the water. Great value for money. Although the filters are extortionate. Aiming to buy an under sink filter at some point.

After reading a new report on how bad the quality of rain water and tap water has become, I decided to try a filter (I live in a high limescale area too, so wanted to reduce that). The dark design is sleek and looks great in my modern kitchen. Filters just click in, no hassle. The water tasted a bit weird at first as I'm used to hard water, but I leave the jug in the fridge and first thing in the morning, having cold, smooth filtered water is brilliant. Cups of tea TASTE WAY BETTER. Added bonus, my dog is normally so so about drinking water. As she sees me pour it from a jug, she presumes it's a treat and drinks more water now. Great value, modern look and makes my tea taste great. Highly recommended.
