King Universal Wood Effect Walnut TV Stand with Black Glass Top & Shelves 80cm suitable up to 40" inch for HD Plasma LCD LED OLED Curved TVs by TV Furniture Direct

I needed to replace a rather large and aged wooden TV stand I think I'd had for some twenty years! I never had a TV on it, as I prefer to wall mount. But I have my modem/router, NAS drive, 2x UPS etc on it, situated under the TV. It looked old and out of place and having hunted around for a while for a suitable replacement that blended into the current decor, I settled on this unit due to its favourable reviews, look and size. I ordered on a Monday and it arrived the next day (even though Amazon reported it due a week later), so very speedy delivery (in fact at time of this review it's still marked as due for delivery). Unfortunately, when I began to assemble the unit, I got the the top oval tempered glass piece, only to discover that it was literally shattered into hundreds of pieces in the bag! The rest of the unit was fine, so I contacted the vendor via email on here that evening, they replied next day and immediately dispatched a replacement which arrived well packaged and thankfully in one piece the next day. It's a shame the courier can't be as careful with something clearly marked as fragile glass, they simply couldn't care less about what they're delivering. I finished construction, which was incredibly easy and the assembled unit looks a great replacement for my older stand, much more compact and moder. The black glass looks sleek with the walnut sides. As the unit is only used to store other devices, it's great. The size is fairly small though (smaller than I expected once constructed), so I wouldn't want to use it as a TV stand (I have a 43", so too big anyway). The height space of the bottom shelf is just about 7" or so (slightly more for the middle to top), so my NAS only just fitted in, but as I'd measured everything prior, knew it would be snug fitting. The cable management plate is OK if you only have a few wires to manage, but I ditched it as I had too much going on round the rear of the unit and it didn't help stability in any way. There is a slight gap (maybe half a cm) either side of the lower shelves, so they're not tight on the unit, they basically sit on the frame, but once you have devices on them, they won't move. Overall I am happy with it, especially the delivery speed and quick customer support after the courier's careless transit damage. Probably slightly overpriced for what it is (£54.99 when I purchased and it has now inflated to over £70!!) and the build quality could be improved a touch, but other than that I am happy with it for what I required.

Happy with purchase, sturdy

All pieces and screws are nearly labelled and clear instructions make this easy to assemble. As pictured, the wood effect is a type of plastic rather then wood with veneer, which looks better and it's made with imperfections to feel more like wood to the touch.The glass is strong and sturdy, you don't feel as if they are too delicate, which makes the unit feel more robust.As pictured, the middle shelf is not secured, but rests on rubber spokes, which I feel undermines how durable this could be. I don't recommend moving the piece without taking the glass off first as nothing secures them as they rest on rubber cussions.I feel this is overpriced slightly, but overall, it's a good set that will do a good job.

This TV stand when assembled looks great. Assembly is easy. However, to achieve an even better product I elected to make some DIY improvements. For example I decided to attach a 10mm thick MDF base, cut to the oval shape. This enabled me to attach a number of furniture sliders to the underside that makes it easy to move even with the weight of a TV and other set top boxes. The instructions say OK for 40" televisions but what it should state is the maximum weight that the top glass can take. I am using a 42" so the tv overhangs at each side, which I don't mind. However, the top glass being only 800mm wide may not be suitable for some 43 inch tvs if they have supporting feet displace towards the sides. To be sure that the top glass is not stressed I would also recommend, adding some (invisible) packing under the glass against the upper steel frame to ensure that it is fully supported. Overall, I am very pleased with the product.

Item arrived well packaged, 3 days early and in good condition.It was exactly as advertised and the same as the pictures on website.It was quick and easy to assemble with all parts required.As the 3 glass shelves made it substantial and heavy, I found it easierto construct the unit, put it in the required position and then fit the 3heavy shatterproof glass shelves which are very easy to place in position.The TV unit looks good and does not wobble or move when the TV is placedin position. Very pleased with my purchase and will buy with confidence fromthis seller again.

The stand fits the space we have for our new 43" TV.Easy enough to assemble but there are obvious joins in the veneer.

I am extremely pleased with my new television table. It is very good quality and easy to put together. I would have given it 5 stars but I had a little problem because the screws were not in the package when it arrived but the company got them to me within a week which is very good because I live in Spain. I have recommended this to my friend and I think he is going to order one too.
