18V, 2.0AH, Lithium-Ion Battery, Compact and Versatile, Compatible with all 18V BLACK+DECKER Products, BL2018-XJ

I bought two of these for our cordless chainsaw, as we needed to do a lot of cutting (a tree fell down in recent gales). I hadn't realised how badly the previous battery had become since we bought it with the chainsaw in 2020. These new batteries gave a lease of new life to the chainsaw which can now whizz through almost anything. One problem is that if you're using the chainsaw for a long sustained period (eg cutting through a thickish trunk), then the battery can overheat which will cause it to stop working, even though it is not discharged. Having a few batteries to cycle through means that you can let one battery cool down while you're using another, then switch back. I've marked the battery down slightly for longevity as the previous battery has obviously lost a lot of capacity, and is only 3 years old, and it has not been heavily used. I am assuming that these will be the same, but I will monitor it.

I purchased a Black and Decker hoover and even though that product a great, I did not buy it from Amazon; I felt that it needed and spare battery and so I was able purchased one from Amazon and it works great.

The type needs to be stronger when charged but very strong when fully charged and cuts out suddenly with about a 20 second rest it fires and then dies again.

I bought this as a spare for my 18volt drill. Ordered and delivered with no issues. Charged it when I received it and then popped it in the kit case for the drill once charge was complete. The standard charger for this battery from Black and Decker is pathetic and will take 24 hrs to charge the battery fully. A 1 hour charger is available which I will buy next year. I bought the drill and battery for a project I have next year and although this is not tradesman quality it will do what I need and last me for at least the rest of my years. I have stored the battery in the house over winter as they do not like the cold and will lose life if stored in cold conditions in the shed or garage.
