Simple, Durable and High quality pedals
Exceptional pedals. Installation was simple, just screw into the cranks of the bike, they fit with no issue. The SPD pedal was very easy to configure the ease of tightness I wanted my shoes to clip in or out. I started off very light and slowely tightened over time for a more comfortable and safe experience (its easier to get used to clipless pedals by having them loose at first). Durability wise these have stood the test of time and experience. I have these pedals on a gravel bike that has seen over 1000km across various terrains and these pedals are still in great condition and have minimal wear. I would purchase these again for any new bikes in the future.

Can't fault them
Excellent pedals and very hard to fault. I've been using these pedals on my bikes for 15 years. Best value bang for your buck pedals.

Solid product, with easy to adjusts tightness for all riding types
I really liked this product, and is one of the best things I've bought on here for a while. They feel robust, are easy to fit and adjust, and aren't too big. And having used them for a trip from Land's End to John O'Groats, I would definitely recommend them; they haven't worn at all, even after the 1000+ miles I've done in them. I've always ridden with them fully loose, and haven't found they come loose unexpectedly, but that they release as expected (a twist and pull motion). Though I am slight, and so can see why some people may want them tighter, and releasing then is also not too difficult - just requires a bit of a forceful push. Pro's: Good solid product, they feel robust and even after some heavy usage and falls, they haven't been marked or damaged at all. The ease at which they can be adjusted to fit the rider; the fitting is a small sized allen key, which most riders will have with them on rides. The size, they are quite small, around the size of a toy car; and being a mix of black and chrome, they look good too. Being double sided, they are quite easy to get the shoe fitting in. Con's: If I was being picky, they can be quite slippery, and so riding without cleated shoes is difficult. They are also not that light, and so for racing, you may want another pair.

3rd set and really pleased. Bombproof pedals.
This is the 3rd set of these PDM-520 pedals that I've bought from Shimano, also from Amazon. You go early can't fault them. They might.not be the most high tech ones, and there certainly are some fancy expensive ones these days, but they just work perfectly, so I can't fault them. This set has gone back on my road bike. They're a decent compact size and are easy to clip in, being double-sided. These screw in easily (one is left thread, the other right thread). Use an Allen Key to tighten them or a spanner to nip them up tight. These are a bargain for £25 at the time of review. I've recently been using a single sided set of pedals, but they've been annoying me if they aren't the right way round to clip in, making me take longer at lights, etc. With these double-sided ones, there's no messing about. I find that the tension is set up fine on arrival, however you can make them tighter or looser to suit. I now have them on all 3 of my bikes. A modern road bike, 80's racer and 2000's mountain bike. Definitely well recommended.

Great SPD pedals
A great set of pedals. I bought them so I can use my mountain bike shoes on my road bike and these work a treat. The SPD cleats on my shoes clipped straight in just like my other SPD pedals. You can clip into either side of these pedals The tension on the release is easy to adjust - if you are new to clipless pedals and want to be sure you can get your feet off them quickly then put them on the loosest setting to start with. Note - you will need shoes that accept the SPD cleats - a set of cleats is provided with these pedals, but with the size of these pedals it would be difficult to ride without the correct shoes. They only accept SPD cleats as far as I can tell so if your shoes dont accept SPD then don't buy. Easy to swap the pedals over from my old rather worn resin set. Use a proper pedal spanner though which gives you just the right amount of leverage. The only downside with these pedals is that they have no reflectors on them - UK law states that any bike riden in the dark needs pedal reflectors so using these when it isn't daylight is illegal. About time the manufacturers noted UK law - but I would say that once my feet are on these then I doubt much light would get reflected back to car drivers even if they did have reflectors on them. Much better to buy decent bike lights Smart Lunar 25 Lux Front with 1/2 Watt Rear Light Set - White, (2xAA, 2xAAA batt.inc.) and reflective clothing in my opinion - although the law says different.

Cleats included
I bought these as I didn't want to spend loads on something I had never tried, this whole clipless pedalling lark is a new venture for me! The positive reviews helped me decide, plus the decent price. They look good and feel like they are going to last. Fitting was simple. I nearly bought cleats separately but noticed in a review someone said they came with them, so I took the gamble and it paid off. So with cleats and pedals it has worked out a pretty good deal. Trying it all out by just sitting on the bike it seemed that my feet kept coming out and so I did a bit of tightning, only to find when I actual went on my first ride I really couldn't get my feet out (not to worry, no-one was watching I'm sure!) - so I adjusted them back again and once I got the hang of it it became second nature after only about 2 miles down the road.

Best budget option
My pedals of choice. Great value and built like a tank. Not to heavy and double-sided. Really easy to clip into.

Great Pedals - Easy for first timers
Easy to fit, easy to adjust and use. After an hour of riding I wasn't having to think about clipping it, it just happened. I'm using them with the SH56 SPD cleats which are multi release; I'd recommend these for beginners, otherwise the standard cleats are fine too. Don't forget a bit of anti-seize on the threads when you install them!
