Don't hesitate, get one now
Great, quality guitar at an affordable price. Sounds great played through both a Marshall Code 25 and Line 6 pocket pod. Set up is good for me and intonation spot on. With the coil tapping its essentially two great guitars for the price of one. There is also the added bonus of three months free membership to Lick Library who have lots of on line tuition material from absolute beginner to advanced levels. My advice, if you are thinking about getting one, don't hesitate. Also order a hard case, this guitar deserves to be looked after.

Beautiful, Professional, Versatile Epiphone Les Paul Standard PRO
Epiphone Les Paul Standard PRO Plus-Top Heritage Cherry Sunburst made in China. Pro-Bucker 3 (bridge/treble) and 2 (neck/rhythm) pickups with coil-splitting (coil-tapping) via push/pull volume-controls. Alnico II magnets, 4-conductor lead-wire, and vacuum wax-potted to eliminate microphonic feed-back. Two volume controls, and two tone-controls. Set-in neck (mahogany), rose-wood finger-board with trapezoid in-lays and 22 medium/jumbo frets. The neck is the “D-Profile slim-taper ‘60’s”. Finger-board radius is 12”. Maple veneer book-matched flame-maple top (AAA). (AAA means Plus-Top). Mahogany body (back and sides). Cream-binding for both the neck and body. Grover machine-heads (14:1 ratio) with life-time guarantee. The humbucker pick-ups are a replica of the famous Gibson 1959 P.A.F. (Patent Applied For), and are of vintage tone and out-put. The coil-split gives an approximation of a Fender Stratocaster. The fully-adjustable tune-a-matic bridge is a lock-tone, and therefore will not fall-off, or move, whilst cleaning and polishing. The strings are DAddario 10-46. The serial-number is silk-screened on the reverse of the head-stock. This guitar is both beautiful in appearance and in sound. The many tonal-choices via the three-way toggle-switch, make this Les Paul highly-versatile for both recording and concert. The humbucker can be mixed with the “single-coil” and with the tone-controls. (The Epiphone Les Paul Custom PRO also has the “out-of-phase” facility). The weight is approximately 8.7lbs. This is a professional instrument, and compares very favourably with Gibson-quality. (PRO means professional). (Standard means “The Standard”). Highly-recommended. N.B. case not included. Arrived very quickly - thanks Amazon! Award 5 Stars!

Well done Epiphone.
There are plenty of accurate reviews of the Epiphone Les Paul online that you can check out so I'm not going to waffle on about specs etc. The most important thing is am I happy with the guitar? The answer is a definite yes, having previously owned a wine red Gibson version, the Epiphone guitar stands up well when considering it is less than a quarter of the price of the Gibson, hence the 5 stars. There are no issues with the guitar and it plays and sounds great, the body is very resonant and is right there in Les Paul sonic territory. I'm sure you could happily upgrade the pickups, electronics, hardware etc but remember that you would then be knocking on the price door of the lower end Gibson Les Pauls. This once again is a great example of Gibson's clever 'covering all bases' pricing policy.

Fantastic guitar for £210 in warehouse deal
Got this in a warehouse deal for around £210 described as 'good' condition. Was prepared to return if there was any obvious defects. Arrived next day (prime) and was a little apprehensive when I picked up the box - guitar was able to move around inside. However, it was bubble wrapped and thankfully fine and in once piece. Closer inspection revealed great finish, lovely feel and a fine guitar. Had my eyes on these for a long time and watched lots of youtube reviews (check out Andertons - amusing videos by guys who can play) so had narrowed it down to the Standard Plus Top Pro - coil tapping, quality parts and maple figured veneer of mahogany main wood.Using this mostly to record into music software (Reason 8 - superb) which comes with Line 8 and Softube guitar effects plus lots of other effects. It is a little muddy on this set up (compared with my Squier Tele) and finding it difficult to get sharper sounds so often reverting to use for fuzzier tones (I appreciate that Tele should be sharper/twangier than the LP). However, through my Fender Champ original tube amp with Soul Food effects or clean it sounds much brighter. I am wondering if there is an issue with electrics on it (which may explain it as a return) - I can live with this and enjoy everything else I am getting from it. Sustain is fantastic, plays fine (wide neck for me but helpful with clumsy fingers) and finish is excellent.Only 4 stars because overall its just not as exciting as the Tele and responsive but a fantastic guitar for the price I paid.

An amazing guitar for such a low price!
I decided to spend a little more on the LP standard model after wanting to replace the cheap electric I've been learning on for years and this was exactly the right move. The lp standard is solid, slightly heavier than other models but definitely comfortable and whilst it may not sound exaaactly like a Gibson, for someone who is looking to move to more serious playing its perfect. It's playable right out of the box, but I would recommend lowering the action slightly, however, that's personal preference and for all intents and purposes you can just pick it up, tune and play.I have really enjoyed how much variation in style and sound you can get out of this guitar and it is definitely value for money!

LES PAUL beautiful sound and quality instrument
Excellent guitar. Great sound. Feels like the action is low and has been adjusted by seller which is great. Absolutely no buzzing strings etc. Was in epiphone box no extra packaging , I think there should have been more packaging but it arrived in one piece with no damage. The knobs feel a little cheap and one of them when pulled upward slipped off. Easy fix though but the knobs do look very very good and expensive when looking at them. Sounds like a beast. Very impressed. Excellent price. Overall don't hesitate just buy it. Do it

What's Important is that I got this guitar
I'm still trying to convince myself that I really got this work of art delivered UPS second day air for $465.I literally saw the price change on this guitar right after I hit BUY NOW.You will notice that the only ones available now are from 3rd parties. I invite you to check those prices, as well as the big three guitar stores. Not only is this instrument beautiful, the fit and finish rivals any I've seen. A couple of months ago I bought that yellow flame maple Slash-AFD Les Paul from Amazon just to see if I like it. I did, so much so that I sold it to the guy across the street after 3 months for what I paid for it and added $200 to it and got this translucent blue beauty. The cream binding at top and fretboard add a touch of smooth class. Those fake mother of pearl inlays shine and glisten like they're lit from within. It weighs a ton and I'm still taking it to my guy for a trigger job but I could probably live with it as is.I just know that for about $30, he can have those strings laying on top of the frets so it plays itself. An earlier review mentioned how much better it looks in person and that is true to the nth degree. And it would look good with the pick guard off.Two little chrome screws secure it and can be replaced in their holes and I bet nobody'd ever notice.I've got a lot to learn about this coil tapping stuff and having two sets of everything to figure out, but it comes with an instruction book as well as truss wrench. The sound is killer coming out of a Champion 20 and with those click knobs, I'm still learning all its voices.I bet you can't get one for under $600 new anywhere now, so I feel like I made an investment at the same time.It doesn't come with a strap or a rinky-dink gig bag or anything, so don't ask.DO however, call that Amazon Harmony number on any guitar you buy and they'll give you a 10% discount right then. They are called Concierge Techs and those guys are great. Kudos to Amazon for that.It ships in its original box inside an Amazon outer box that's pretty well protected. No complaints here.Good luck finding one Boys, I don't hold out much hope for you.

Wow - what a great guitar!
I took a risk buying this online, but the price was excellent and the guitar was received promptly and in perfect condition. No adjustments to the set up were needed, though it was very out of tune. The neck was straight, the nut centered and the action as I would like it to be. The fit and finish are superb. The knobs are very firmly set and I can't imagine them falling off as some have reported experiencing. The paint job is flawless and looks great. The guitar came very nicely double boxed and protected. A case would have been a nice addition, but I knew it wold not come with one and it would have just raised the priceThe guitar sounds fabulous and it has incredible sustain. I have never owned a "real" LP, but I have played one at the GC and I cannot tell the difference. I'm sure (maybe) a professional musician could tell (Ithouhg 'd like to see a blind test), but I can't. I play mine through a Fender Mustang II V2. Combined the coil splitting and dual HBers, I've been able to get every sound I've wanted.Editorially, I don't know what Gibson is thinking. This guitar is so nice and well made with really good hardware for such a reasonable price that they have to be killing sales of their Gibson line of "real" LPs. The fact that they are in financial trouble suggest they are doing something wrong. I hope they survive, but in the meantime the only problem with this guitar for me is it will make it very difficult to ever justify spending $2000 more for a GLP. I highly recommend this guitar, and in particular this model, if you are in the market for a LP-style guitar. Just don't expect to see mine listed on craigslist anytime soon.

A guitar that would make Wallace Stevens proud.
When I opened the box and peeled off the packaging, I was transported back to my teenage years surprised with a feeling of awe. This guitar is far more beautiful than depicted on Amazon. It was set up well enough out of the box for me not to have to adjust it. And "drool" is the word that comes to mind. I've posted pictures - this is a very good looking (and sounding) but never mind that, good looking guitar!

Una chitarra da "Uauuuuhhh"
Bellissima!
