IP68 CABLE CONNECTOR FOR 6MM TO 10MM DIAMETER CABLE - BLACK - 3 POLE

I needed an outside connector urgently so I ordered the above. I read the reviews and also knew from past experience these were a pain to connect , but accepted that.When it arrived I could not do what I required as the weather was bad so I could not use it imediatly, but on removing it from the the jiffy bag I noticed that it had a Quality Control stamp on it (who ever quality controlled this item should be sacked).So today I remove the item from it's packaging to find that certain importance NECESSARY parts were missing.This is an outdoor connector, made up of 9 parts:-1. Outer Compression Nut (left)2. Gland seal (left) (this helps keep the water out) MISSING3 . Body (left)4. Central compression ring5. Terminal Block6.Sealing ring (this is designed to keep the water out) MISSING7 Body Right8. Gland Seal (see 2 and 6) and you guessed it MISSING9. Outer Compression nut rightNow because I needed it for an urgent job I had to use two seals from an old connector (not completely compatable) plus waterproof tape (which I had to purchace today).It has cost me over £10.00p for a connector which I will have to replace as can not Safely rely on the waterproof tape.

I feel it's my duty to warn people about this connector...it arrived promptly but three of the nine parts were missing rendering it potentially lethal as it is probably not waterproof. I say 'potentially' and 'probably' because it may still work but I'm not going to be the person to test this by mixing water and 240v! Would you?Reading other people's reviews I see that I am not the only person who received their unit with (the same) missing parts. (2, 6 & 8) I have contacted the seller and eagerly await their reply.

...thought this was a plug-together unit but its not. It has a loose plastic connecting block inside. Have used it for a different purpose and it seems okay.

There are a whole range of waterproof cable connectors and I have used a few over the years, many were though good ridiculously expensive, but at last some more reasonable price wise are coming on the market.This one has the advantage of being easy to get at for the cable joining and for that alone is worth a plus, been in situ for a couple of months now, no sign of water ingress yet.

Simple to wire up and does the job. Too soon to comment on water tightness but so far so good (a month)

I have two of these. One is underground and the other on the surface, so far no problems.

Quick and easy to fit. I used this to repair a pond pump mains cable which I accidentally cut.

Quite easy to install and feels secure. I have had it installed 0.5 m underwater for several days and the connection is still working!
