This is a good adjunct to the DARE program. Lots of good tidbits about anxiety control.
I have suffered from severe anxiety all of my life. I tried everything to combat it but nothing helped much. I discovered the Panic Away! program and that led to the DARE program and book by the same author, Barry McDonagh. They have been SO helpful to me in accepting and embracing my anxiety rather than running away from it. This workbook is cartoon based with little assignments to do and tidbits of information about anxiety and overcoming it. Alone, this will not suddenly end your anxiety but, in conjunction with the DARE book or program or just as a reminder of how we can overcome anxiety and that it is NOT in control of us unless we let it be, it is a good workbook.I went through the pages and did some of the little assignments and they brought me back to the DARE book which I read and loved, I am now reading it again. I suggest using the DARE approach with the workbook for the best results. This workbook may be good on its own for those who experience mild anxiety or who want a tiny taste of the DARE approach. It's also a bit introspective and you may learn a few things about yourself that you didn't even realize which is always a good thing.

My Daily Coach -- great for journaling exercises!
The Dare Workbook is a great companion to the original. While the first book helps you understand that you are not crazy, weak or alone, this book acts as a coach providing day-to-day assistance to keep you on track. Long story short, my adventure with anxiety started with what I now know was a panic attack and multiple doctor visits for my weird symptoms with no diagnosis. In the middle of a sleepless night, I typed all of my symptoms in a long line and the search engine came back with "anxiety". I was almost insulted. I can't be one of those "weak" people who are scared to leave the house. My pounding heart, nausea, dizziness and tingling limbs can't just be anxiety?! I've since made great progress in understanding anxiety (we are not weak!) and implementing the Dare system. I've come to realize how many people I know are suffering from this issue. I think the modern world is wreaking havoc on so many of us. I love the simplicity of the illustrations and the tools in this book. I shared it with my artist niece (also a sufferer) and she loved it! A few tips from me: REALLY give up caffeine. I found that very hard but it really does make a huge difference. Don't procrastinate. As my pile of work builds so does my anxiety. If you can, take advantage of the Dare audios. They've really helped me. Don't give up and don't be so hard on yourself. We live in stressful times and you don't need addictive prescriptions to get through this. Try Dare -- what have you got to lose except anxiety :)

Love this book!!!
Ok so everyone says it’s cartoon like. Yes, it is. But it’s what gives this book it’s charm! It’s to help the book be fun and more relatable and to not be a stressor. The questions and activities in the book promote deep thinking and help you put your anxiety into perspective. I really enjoy working in this book so far. I’ve discovered things about my anxiety and panic disorder that I didn’t know were there. This book asks the right questions and goes great as a companion to the Dare book. I bought both and love the way things are broken down and simplified without being condescending. Definitely worth the purchase!

I have been suffering on and off with anxiety for about 8 years since being diagnosed with a cardiac issue. After I had a procedure and was cured I was left with chronic palpitations that left me so so anxious despite them being benign. I had a really bad flare of my anxiety four months ago that practically left me house bound. I got the dare book and saw the sun start to come out again. When I started the work book I began to push out of my comfort zone and began to drive alone again (my anxiety is around driving alone) I have been using the dare technique and today made a huge goal. I can’t urge people enough to read Dare and do the workbook. It REALLY works and just makes complete sense. You will literally feel the weight being lifted off of you because you will realize you are not alone. Get this!!!!!

Another book that will change your life
Just like the book Dare, this is another gift Barry gave me. To me, this book is kind of an integration of the crucial information in that book, making it more readable and easy to implement. What’s more, this book added a lot more ways to practice to give you a deeper understanding of the concepts, at mean time, change some strategy like “ love yourself” to “ self care” and from Magnesium and Cal to only Mag and so on.Just like I said, if you have suffered from anxiety for more than 10 years like me, this book will change your life, take commitment and implement to this book, never giver up, I promise you a good life is right there.

To the point AND effective...
I purchased two copies of this after having read the original DARE book months ago and am so grateful that I did. The workbook is well organized and contains recaps of the DARE process as well as brand new tips and tricks to overcome anxiety. The workbook has especially helped my daughter as she is able to personalize the pages (which contains many blank areas to do so). She has added her own style by coloring it and sketching in additional images. She now has a “personalized” workbook that “speaks” to her specific anxiety challenges. The DARE workbook is her preferred book for anxiety relief and I am extremely grateful for the progress she is made in a short amount of time.
