Really pleased with my first dehydrator.
As a wildcamper I've seen other people dehydrate their own meals to take out camping with them, and I liked the idea. After much deliberation I decided to opt for this Nebula 6 tray dehydrator.Initial results have been excellent. I've done basmati. I've made a vegetarian green lentil cottage pie base mix. I've also done fresh pasta and steamed broccoli this week with great success - I'll be rehydrating the pasta dish with a cheese and broccoli cup a soup. It's obviously a process that can take many hours, but I keep track of my electricity usage through my smart meter and it's not even noticeable on that. The machine itself has 6 trays, I went for the option to get the 6 dehydrator sheets included, which work great. I also had some silicone baking sheets at home which were sitting doing nothing, they're approx. A3 sized, so I cut them in half and they're perfect for drying wetter food which might drip down. The fan is at the back of the machine, so it's easier to clean, as nothing will drip on the fan.The digital control panel is very easy to use, almost like child's play. A temp button, up and down arrows, a start stop button, a timer function and that's all you need.As my first dehydrator I couldn't be happier. I was looking at buying a larger Excalibur machine, but after seeing a friend's I was concerned about size and where I could put it. This Nebula is a good size for the kitchen bench and looks smart. It's ideal for what I need out of it.

Works brilliantly
This is the third dehydrator I have tried and it's easily the best. The drawers are easy to pull out or remove, there is a removeable drip tray at the bottom and sleek, easy to clean digital buttons on the outside. It's powerful so less time needed. The temperature and time buttons are very easy to operate and change even in mid cycle. The major plus for me is that the fan is at the back (rather than on other models I've tried where its at the bottom) - this means that all the shelves get an equal blast of warm air and dry evenly. It makes a bit of noise but no louder than a normal oven. I've only had it one week and I've dehydrated mushrooms (major success), strawberry slices, cinnamon apple slices, grapes, tomatoes and basil leaves. It also very gently heats up your kitchen! There is a good guide included but to be honest the more research I do the more it seems like trial and error until you get to know your particular machine. Next I'll be trying a fruit leather. It's great to make use of all the surplus fruit and veg lying around or in the garden at this time of year. I love this machine.

Excellent Value. Great Machine.
Used twice so far. Very impressed. It's quiet and works wonderfully on fruit leathers. I'll be making other things soon.I've read that some people think they're noisy, that isn't the case with mine. Perhaps you should send them back to get them checked out.I would definitely recommend this dehydrator to anyone.

Amazing and sleek
Amazing product.I was tempted to buy a cheaper one but decided to spend a little more on this one and I'm glad I did! Its sleek and fits nicely under my kitchen cabinet, it's about the size of a standard air frier. The performance is great, dried apples and mushrooms in 4 hours, the mushrooms were dry enough to easily grind into a powder. The only drawbacks are the fact that you can't turn on/off the machine via the device itself, you have to turn it on/off by the plug and the fan is a tad noisy (probably about the same as an extraction hood on the lowest setting)Overall, I'm very pleased with this machine

Great starter
I like how simple and easy to use it is. I would like it if the temp went slightly higher. But for starting out it's a perfect all olin one package.

Erm impressed with this machine
The media could not be loaded. So I have shopped around for quiet a while now before purchasing this item, the price was a bit daunting to be fair.but at £3.50 per 150grms of shop purchased jerky it was getting expensive when my kid got into it as well.So I looked at various others but the main problem for me was the round versions were simply not big enough for our requirements and also I was reading lots of reviews about the plastic trays cracking after several uses.another big thing for me was the washing aspect.I wanted to be able to pop the trays straight into a quick cycle in the dishwasher and then rotate to the next batch of food.I have a hungry teenager so yeah snacks are a must at all time.I sliced the beef in to various chunks of about 5mm thickness.I then marinated them over night in a jerky seasoning, this one is none spicy for the kids mates to have as well.it is in total 3kgs of beef.I really didn’t think the machine would manage it all and that I’d be doing several batches.wow what a shock, every slither went in.I set the timer for 4 hours at 70 degrees and away it went.at 2 hours in I checked it and decided to turn each piece over.we like a chewy kind of jerky and found that even 4 hours was slightly to long.if the slices were thicker it may have needed longer but for this thickness 4 hours was more than enough.this is a very dark colour because I have used a dark sugar and also a dark soy sauce. But it actually really works.the jerky is almost like meat molasses.nom nom nom.I’m already washing down the trays to also do a bacon candy over night and tomorrow it will be sliced fruit such as strawberries and kiwis and apples.I have also read that air fryer or square steamer parchment sheets can be used in these so I shall be looking into those as well to save even more time. Only one thing I can fault on it is that it cannot be turned of directly on the machine itself you have to turn it of at the main plug to stop the cycle and reset the functions for another round. Also nice and compact,it looks big when it arrives in the box. But surprisingly small when unpacked but then shocks you again on the depth and the amount that can be held on the drying trays.Sound wise, some have mentioned that it is really loud,we didn’t find that to be the case. A lap top fan is louder than the sound this makes,I had it sat in the living room this first time and couldn’t hear it above the tv really. All in all very happy with this item,it took a fair bit of researching and running around to various high street shops to check other products out but for the money the possibilities are endless, I won’t ever buy shop purchased jerky of any kind again
