Cardone new pump
Great brand new power steering pump for my 1997 Dodge Dakota with 3.9l and cheaper then the reman. Yes the pulley are press on so you do need a special tool to remove the pulley. Work great and I recommend vaccum bleeding (Matco/mityvac adaptor and mityvac gun.)

Great replacement
Works great, not an easy install. You need a special tool to remove the pulley but once everything is installed it returns your steering ability. Previous owner looped the lines back to the pump burning it out. This one has been working great. Should work on most 3.9, 5.2, and 5.9 Dakota engines.

So far, so good.
Bought this Cardone pump to replace the original pump in my '99 Dodge Dakota with the 5.2L. My pump was leaking like a sieve. I installed this pump with a new Dorman pulley and a new set of hoses from AC Delco. I filled the system with fresh ATF+4 fluid and bled by turning the wheel, lock to lock. Everything went well. No leaks, easy to bleed and smooth operation. The quality of the pump seems good and I like the plated finish. It should hold up better than the paint that was on the OE pump. Installation was straightforward. The hardest part was pressing on the new pulley. If you don't have the little tool, buy it. You can do it using a 3/8 bolt and nut but it's tough. And you'll need a puller, too, for removing the pulley from the old pump. You can rent one of those at your local auto parts store; don't buy it. Time will tell if the pump is reliable. So far, so good. I'm happy with it.

Worth the money
I bought one earlier from a discount auto store and the stupid thing went out on me way up in the mountains. I replaced with this one and have had no problems.

Best power steering pump
Quietest and smoothest pump I've ever used. Works perfectly

Working well.
Made steering a lot easier while sitting still. Think the engine runs better also. Must have been a lot of drag with the old one.

Leaked
Within ten minutes went from full to empty. Leaking out of seal that is pressed
