Electrical Grounding and Bonding

Phil Simmons was the first NEC Code presenter I had the wonderful experience to see
There is no one who can write on the topic of NEC Grounding and Bonding better than Phil. I have had the pleasure to see him many times since our first meeting in the mid '80s. Mark C. Ode is no slouch either. I have also had the pleasure listening to his presentations at the Eastern Section of the IAEI for many years. I consider the 2023 Grounding and Bonding book they have produced to be the best written book on the subject. Congrats to both of them. If you are an electrician who wants to understand the topic BUY the book.

The descriptions in the chapters are not helpful
I have been in the service industry for a good handful of years. I do have university education and did very well academically. I am currently in school for this stuff. I'm reading this book to understand how grounding works with different electrical systems. I find myself wasting hours in time of trying answer the questions in chapter 2 and every other chapter after that. The book is explaining things in technical terms but to my perspective it lacks giving enough real-world reference or examples in relating a 3 phase, 3 wire system or 3 phase, 4 wire system. I'm lost in terminology. Another thing the book does is cite wye systems, delta and single phase a lot. Again, the book is vague to absent in giving detail on those things...are they citing an accessory panel, a house, panels in series.I do not have enough time to sit down then write in my own examples of what the book mentions. I could be wrong in trying to represent what the book is discussing. A good trick to do is have the chapter questions ready as I go through the chapters then answer each question. Again, understanding the material is forgettable and I'm not learning any concepts. Being an Electrician can be a dangerous profession to be in and I would like the knowledge to be able to represent the company I work for without being exposed in a manner where I fall short in understanding grounding concepts. Chapter 1 is good, but chapter is 2 very technical and its almost 100 pages. I appreciate how this book came about but to me this book is for a more advanced installer rather than Building Maintenance.
