Fun Read
Core foundations are there but explanations lack clarity. Bought this for my Operating Systems class and even my professor was sometimes confused by the lack of clarity in the details. However It explains the Core Ideas very well, you just need to work out the solutions to those ideas yourself. Recommend.

Overly Priced College Textbook
Book was good and served its purpose for the class, but it's overpriced, as textbooks tend to be.

Online resources not available.
Online resources, which was one of the selling points for my professor, are still "Coming Soon." My course is now more than half over and students with the previous version of the book have access too tools I don't. There seems to be no way to communicate with Pearson on this issue. I'd really like my money back on this very expensive book at this point.

Poorly Written
The author assumes some knowledge that a person unfamiliar with the subject would likely not know. Not only that, but the author introduces concepts, then does not explain them very well, if at all. Yet, there are problems/review questions on them. There are even questions on content covered (in the chapter appendix) after those questions are presented. The author does a good job of making it seem as though the book is well written until you actually read it.
