I'm kind of embarrassed to say that I've purchased FIVE different VIZIO replacement remotes over the past few weeks, trying to find one that works with my VIZIO M51ax-j6 surround sound soundbar system. I finally found it with this one. Previous remotes I had purchased either didn't have all of the functions for the surround speakers, the individual channels, EQ or a visible display. This one works perfectly. So, if you've been hesitant to find one that works with your system, this is probably the correct one. It even has an Atmos setting (Height) that wasn't available on my OEM/original remote. I even like this better than my original remote because the buttons are much more responsive and solid feeling with a tactile click that serves as feedback on each press.

I took another review of a customer's advice. It did not work straight out of the box like the description claimed.. however, I unplugged the power cord and HDMI cord from the back of sound bar.. waited about 10 seconds then plugged back in. The remote then worked. I think the seller should upgrade this detail to their description since most people would just return and chalk it up like it doesn't work! Due to this being such a easy thing and careless to not advertise w those details, I gave it 4 stars.

Thank heavens for products like these and even more importantly, fast Amazon service. Our remote just stopped working (the tv is only about 2 years old & THAT works fantastic). The new remote works perfectly, for a very good price. We watch tv primarily at night in the living room so it doesn't get the amount of use that other households would put on these things, so when it comes time to replace it (which I hope is at least double the time we got on the first one) at least it won't break the bank!

After seeing multiple different remotes for our Vizio Surround system I settled on this one. At first I was having a difficult time pairing it, however, after reading a comment to unplug my soundbar and then plugging it back in - it was paired immediately. Exactly like our old one that my husband accidentally placed in the cup holder in the couch where my water was and essentially ruined our remote.
