Nice stone
This is a good stone to sharpen an axe. It is easy to hold and has the required coarse and fine grits to do the job. Ultimately sharpening a knife or axe is more about technique than it is the stones you use. It is nice that some guard oil is included.

Worth the money for a quality tool.
More expensive than the Lansky puck but worth the investment. Twenty minutes using Helko’s axe file and both sides of this puck got both my pack axe and a knife of mine hair shaving sharp. If you’ve invested money into quality axes, invest just a little more in this puck and maintain your tools properly. Highly recommended!

A sharp axe is easy to use
When you use an axe, you will roll the edge over. This Helio Werk dual grit stone is the perfect for trueing the bit edge. It's too easy to mess up the bit edge using a knife stone on an axe. I have sharpened my Gransfor Bruks Forrest Axe and my Husquvarna Splitting Maul since receiving the stone. I use it on the splitting wedge most often.

Works Great
This works exactly as advertised. Made in Germany by a great company. I just honed an Estwing hatchet way sharper than it was when I bought it new. Worked perfectly on an old Collins axe too. This puck is much easier to use than a bench stone. Highly recommended.

Quality worth the price
Use for field sharpening of axe head and scandi grind fixed blade. Awesome fine grit side, but the rough grit is almost too gentile. A great tool supplement.

Very easy to use.
Works excellent… So much easier to use than the small rectangle knife stones. This one fits in the palm of your hand and is very easy to sharpen a hatchet Or an axe with, I’ve used it for both.
