Suaoki S7 Laser Measure 131Ft Laser Distance Meter with Mute Function for Distance Area Volume Pythagorean Calculation, Batteries Included

Needed this for clearance measurements and lot / house dimensions. Tried the lower power one but really didn't work at all in sunlight. Reviews suggested the long range one for daylight but still didn't perform. Works reasonably fine at night but range is often less than 60' in sunlight unless using good targets. Even then it won't come close to the advertised max. Even bigger problem is you can't read the display in any kind of daylight and you can't change it's brightness or contrast. Had to look at it though cupped hands which made using the angle reading almost useless.The continuous mode works well to accumulate lengths but cycle time is too low to get any kind of landscape measurements. Directions show getting tree height from 2 measurements. Good luck with that. Hard to get base of tree from more than 30' away except at night but getting the top of the tree is almost impossible. Getting full range readings seem to rely heavily on getting a normal incidence on the target so I can't really see how you'd get triangulated height measurements without hanging a target on the top.Other than those limitations, it works great.

The good: I like the digital level feature of this unit compared to others that only have a bubble level. To get accurate measurements when holding these type of devices in your hand they need to be held level, and with the small bubble levels on other models, that is hard to do. The digital level on this one makes it easy to know you’re holding it level plus you can use it as an inclinometer to measure angles. It’s a great unit when used indoors.The bad: I could not see the display outside in the sun unless I cupped my hand over the display and even then it was a bit hard to read. I thought with the reverse black screen with white text it would be easy to read outdoors. Wrong. I also had a problem getting a reading at only 10 feet away measuring from the top of a fence to the blacktop below. I had to try several times until I got a reading.If you plan to only use this indoors then it’s a great unit. The tripod mount and digital inclinometer are nice features I didn’t see on other similar units. However, if you need something to measure distances outdoors in sunlight, I would not recommend this unit.

I researched this model and it seemed to have the most features I would use. The company does have a significant history of scientific and medical tools so I purchased this item vs the standard tool name brands. The tool itself is well made and sturdy and the carrying pouch and built in leveler are a plus. The laser is a bit fickle but I think it is a learning curve and of course it would help if I read the manual. I have my doubt if it would perform well outdoor but I think the category itself would prove the same results. While it does not totally replace a tape measure it has already performed numerous tasks that have saved time and provided excellent accuracy.I am pleased with my purchase for my adapting to a new warehouse and I would recommend this product

Was able to measure up and model a house in SketchUp in very little time. The 20 memory measurement history is very useful. Switching units on the fly was even better. Love the volume and Pythagorean functions. Just be careful with the point of reference button (measuring from top or bottom of unit). It's easily pressed so you could end up with string of wrong measurements if you don't keep an eye on the setting.

I have been using the unit for several days and find it very unreliable in sunlight. Not only is it difficult to see the laser spot and read the dial but the measurements can be off by 1 ft in 40 ft. Incredible! I will very likely send it back. If you only do casual interior measuring it may be perfect for you but beware if you go outside to measure in the daytime, even in the shade.4 days after the return period ended the screen stoped working. Down to 1 star.

Nice computing options, ft 1/16s, M when measuring a room it gives you area as well as circumference and can measure height by triangulation. Repeatbility is good, display good readable and orientation is right. Also start of measuring is set at front or back or half way the instrument.Measures angles as well and accuracy is up there, very nice machine. Update: visibility outside is not great.

I have only had my laser meter for one day, but I have enjoyed playing with it. It is a little difficult to hold the beam steady when trying to press the measure button. I am sure I will get used to it. The white on black background letters are terrific. I am 77 yrs old and have some vision problems so these are a lifesaver. I did some measuring inside a warehouse and the red dot was very bright. I think this will work well for my purposes.

Short review, only few days with unit. Will update if any flaws found. I had reservations due to some reviews, glad I decided on this one due to extended range, relatively low cost, and fairly accurate. I can tell you that the one thing that would annoy me was to have to pick the units every time it was turned on. Well mine remembers the units used last !! the screen is easy to read, the tilt meter seems spot on. I did order the Dewalt red glasses for outdoor use, and the red Target. I have not yet been able to test in high light conditions outdoors.So far this unit is smaller than expected, and fairly easy to use.

I've tested it's accuracy at around 1m and about 10m, it was as close as I could tell to the tape measure.Once you've had a quick read, it's pretty simple to do area and trig measurements.The display is easy to read.It worked well in bright daylight up to about 20 metres, I haven't tried it at a greater distance in bright light, but I think it would struggle to go anywhere near the full 100m on a sunny day. Even at 25 metres in sunny weather you have to search a bit to find the red dot.The digital level indicator is very easy to use, it's the right balance of responsive and stable.It feels well made, no creaks from the case, no buttons that feel like they're not in properly. I can't fault it, happy with the purchase.

I tested the accuracy v a Leica costing 4 times the price and it is bang onIts just a but smaller than I am used to but very handy to conveniently slip in the pocketFor the price you cant go wrong, but its early days yet and see if it lasts 15 years like my old Leica

For this price, this unit is packed with great features. Accurate and easy to use. A button on the side would help with ergonomics in my opinion.

Brilliant machine! Knows a lot, easy to use once your run through the user manual.The screen could be a little brighter, as it's difficult to see it in daylight, but otherwise a well spent money on a fantastic Chinese product!
