Easy to use and instructions are straightforward. I used this kit to install on 2007 Acura RDX knock sensor bung hole stripped. Acura Dealer and other Asian car specialist repair would not try to do a repair and all wanted to replace engine. I decided between this and timecert kit. Decided to get this due to helicoil is more forgiving than timecert in drilling error. By the way I’m only a YouTube certified mechanic( meaning I learn by watching YouTube. ) I watch a few videos before I pulled the trigger and do it my self. Worst thing I can do is screw up and buy a used engine. Main thing to do is prep the area make sure you have clearance to use a drill. Bit was sharp and cut the hole like butter. Also I already have cutting oil. So it help alot since my engine is an aluminum block. I used a brake cleaner to blow out cuttings and clean the hole. After that I used the provided cutting tool with oil and used a drill cutter bit at a very low speed. It took me ten minutes to finished making new threads due to you can only do this once . Slow is fast and fast is slow . Every four revolution I take out it back out and clean the hole and tool. After that installed the helicoil with tool and broke the piece with supplied punch. First initial threading of sensor was tight but with a little persuasion it went in with a ratcheting. Tension was better than the OEM threads. I didn’t have to use locktite or any thread lock . This kit save me a lot of money. By the way I only used one coil and I probably will never need to use it again.

Drill worked fine, Tap worked like expected, but couldn't get the coil to thread. Don't know why but just kept breaking the tab

The former owner of my truck stripped out one on the bolts that mounts the oil pan to the block. I was able to successfully drill, tap and insert without issue. These actually provide more locking force than the original threads. Saves me from having to pull the motor to correctly and permanently fix my issue.

This was a perfect fit for my Indian Roadmaster drain plug. With a angle drill it was fairly easy to install. Original plug fits perfect and no leaking.

This created more problems than fix the one it was intended to fix in the first place. Tap Instantly snapped with the slightest bit of tension. Leaving a near impossible to remove chunk of the tap in my cylinder head. Had to buy a diamond bit($30) to make a hole in the broken tap and an extraction bit($17) to get that out then I was out twice as much money then I bought another tap($23) better quality but the insert happened to be of the same great quality as the broken tap and ended up stripping the bolt I needed the insert for in the first place. Which cost another $12.99 to replace plus another insert set for $30. So in the end $114.00 because of shotty poor quality Helicoil set

I used this M10x1.0 kit to fix a stripped out derailleur mount on my aluminum framed bike - which would have turned my bike into scrap had I not have been able to save it. While inexpensive, this kit is high quality. I have used genuine Helicoil sets, as well as Timeserts in the past, and this kit will stand up to any of them. The M10x1.0 is an odd size, but I'm glad I have it in my tools.

Bought to repair some damaged threaded holes on my aluminum heads for my Toyota. This kit worked super slick and I ended up having to repose 2 additional holes in my transmission houses as well. Saved me $$$ from having to use a meahcine shop to repair otherwise

The set is suppose to be 15 pieces, right now I have 10 pieces of helicoil and no tool.
