Saved me over 100 on a new power supply
I just built a new PC and was going to get a new power supply because the pins didn't match I'm glad I researched this plug it worked out well for me.Now I hope in the future that if I get better graphics card I still have enough wattage to power it but it should based on my research.If you are in the same spot give it a try.

it works, a little pricey
So most new motherboards that support higher power cpu's need usually an 8pin and 4 pin, this allows most current power supplies with a single 8 pin out to power the 8+4 pin inputs needed. For the price though, it should have had a covering over the wires, but overall it works so i can't complain.

Good adapter
I recently upgraded the old family computer from 2005 with some of my old gaming parts from 2012ish. Since I didn’t upgrade the power supply the CPU power was 4 pin and the newer motherboard needed 8 pin. This adapter worked great for the conversion.

¡USE YOUR STIMULUS CHECK ON A GOOD POWER SUPPLY!
I think I bought a placebo?I have an older power supply, as I'm certain EVERYONE who purchased this product or is reading about this product.I updated my desktop with a new ASUS motherboard, AMD Ryzen 7 3800XT CPU, 16GB DDR4 memory, and 1TB M.2 SSD. WITHOUT replacing my older power supply, we all try to save money if we can, but newer modern motherboard CPU or GPU needs MORE POWER than the old 400WATTS! But the system ran just fine for ~6 months with a dual channel 4pin 12v plugged into half of the motherboard connection. After I installed this dual to quad 12v (4pin to 8pin) adapter, I don't know if it made anything better? BUT now I randomly get the Microsoft sad face blue reboot screen. To be fair, it also has done some Windows updates, and Adobe updates (because I refuse to pay Adobe more money for the CS5 software I OWN! *can I get an Amen?* ). Everything was running fine without ever seeing that Microsoft sad face blue reboot screen until the last few weeks. I don't know if there is an actual correlation between splitting this 2 channel 12v supply into 4 channels, but it never occurred before? Or has Microsoft and/or Adobe update have a glitch.But it ran fine for ~6 months with just half of the 12v motherboard channels connected, didn't actually increase the wattage available for CPU, USB ports PCIE slots, WiFi & Bluetooth antennas, M.2 drive, etc all take more power to run off the motherboard. Only the GPU gets extra power from a secondary power supply connection, but you might have an adapter for that as well. I think we bought a placebo? Should have saved my $5 and kept saving for a newer power supply before something dangerous happens from unreliable power supplied to the desktop. This could be an expensive paperweight without the correct supply of power and protection when a brown-out or black-out occursv(in Texas LOL), and the 10 year old power supply with adapters fails to keep the motherboard or GPU happy. This adaptor isn't going to find extra watts from your power supply, but it will create more heat as it attempts to find for more wattage. Heat kills computers and all electrical wiring! Just wait a month until you have the budget for that new power supply that won't need adapters for every component.

Great adapter!
With newer motherboards such as mine, they require three 4 pin 12v connectors. While most power supplies under 800 watts do not have that many (usually only 2), so this makes powering your mobo much easier and user friendly.
