Gift for Wifey ..she loves them ..score !!! This is a nice set for the price on sale at that. Pretty sure they will hold up just know they are very sharp out of the box. The holder is very nice looking for the knives. I also purchased the honing stone set with it this also comes in a nice wooden box.

I just received these knives today, so my long term experience with them might vary from this review. Out of the box, these are a very nice set for the cost. The pro’s: All of the 16 knives arrived in the manufacturer box. My set was well packed. All of the pieces arrived with protective knife tip plastic caps, cushion wrapped, all in individual plastic sleeves. The (heavy duty) kitchen shears were not in any of this packing described above, but were in good shape and undamaged. Each knife arrived EXTREMELY sharp. Be careful handling them out of the box. The knife block arrived in vacuum sealed plastic and was in pristine condition and really attractive. The fit and finish of the knives seems top notch. The transition seam where the wood meets the metal on each knife is smooth and perfect on each knife. The appearance of the knives and block is impressive for the money. This is a knife nice set to display. It looks first class. Very upscale. The removable steak knife block is a great idea. Not sure when it can be used in the real world, but a pretty imaginative idea. The one thing that I really like is the kitchen shears. None of the “plastic handle scissors” that come in most sets. These seem extremely heavy duty and ready to cut bones, heavy skin, and any kitchen duties that you will put it up against. (The one thing I have to mention, and mention in the con section, is that although it’s not really that noticeable, the wood used on the kitchen shears is not the same as the knives in the set. They somewhat match, but it is definitely different.) Cons: Like I stated above, each knife was individually packaged…but not the kitchen shears. That was notable, but not a big deal as they were undamaged. And, as I said, the wood on the shears differs from the wood on the knives. Matches well enough, but not exactly. I will say that the fit of the knives in the wood block is not exactly perfect. They are somewhat loose. To have the knives line up perfectly, it takes a few seconds to re-set a few of them to get them sitting identically in a row. Kind of annoying, but not a deal breaker. In conclusion, so far I’m very happy with this purchase. If these hold up in the long run with hand washes and hand drying, I’ll feel good about recommending it to everyone who asks. If you choose to purchase this set, I hope your experience is as good as mine…so far.

These knives look great, appear to be well made, and out of the box are hair shaving sharp. Their durability and edge retention will yet to be determined but am very satisfied. Would definitely recommend.

Both my wife and i are very happy with this knife set. As we recently invested in a juicer, we needed a set of knives that would make fruit and vegetable prep easier and less time consuming and this set does it. Easily recommend this.

Classy knives, with sharp blades. Wooden block looks nice on the kitchen counter. Bought as a gift, receiver was impressed, said they look luxurious. Handles are unique and gorgeous.

Womit andere werben hält dieser Messerblock von Shan Zu. Qualität !!! für den kleinen Geldbeutel. Jedes einzelne Messer gut ausbalanciert(siehe Fotos), liegen sehr gut in der Hand. Unbestritten ist das Highlight dieses sehr praktischen und nützlichen Küchenhelfers, der abnehmbare, kleinere Block mit den Steakmessern. Wer meckern auf hohem Niveau betreiben will, wird bestimmt auch hier fündig werden. Für mich ist dieser Messerblock jeden einzelnen Cent wert, auch wenn oder gerade weil es Made in China/Qualität aus China ist, daher ganz klare Kaufempfehlung und 5 Sterne.

Knives are sharp out of the box, cut human skin really well. Had some Miracle Blades knives for about 18 years before these - night and day. No more squashed tomato, it's now sliced tomatoes. One thing I will say is that it would be good if there were labels on the block as multiple knives go in the same slots. Would also be good if the chef knife was slotted so the cuts don't vacuum seal to the knife. Overall great product.

Seit Ewigkeiten ärger ich mich mit meinem billigen Ikea Messer und habe mir nun endlich mal einen ordentlichen Messerblock gegönnt. Was soll ich sagen, der größte Fehler war das ich es nicht vorher gemacht habe. Wenn man Jahrelang mit einem Stumpfen Messer gearbeitet hat merkt man das gar nicht aber wenn man einmal so ein top scharfes Messer benutzt hat und dazu noch einen Praktischen Weztstahl hat damit es auch scharf bleibt will man nie wieder zurück. Die Messer kommen in einer sehr schönen und Edeln Verpackung die sich auch super als Geschenk eignen würde. Die Messer sind super verarbeitet und die Auswahl ist sehr umfangreich, für jeden Zweck das passende dabei. Auch die Steakmesser finde ich super, dadurch das Sie im Block stehen werden Sie in der Schublade nicht stumpf. Der Block ist viel besser als die Messer in der Schublade wo immer alles aneinander Reibt oder man in die Klinge fasst und ist dazu noch ein stylischer Hingucker in der Küche. Alles in allem ein super set zu einem sehr fairen Preis.
