Nice jacket for the price! Good Propper quality!
This is actually my 2nd Propper M65. I bought my first one about 12 years ago at the local Army Surplus. I suspect the store owner would get his shipment in and split the jacket and liner so that he could sell them separately since the one from there did not come with liner. Anyway, after 12 years I guess I kinda 'outgrew' my old jacket and hadn't been able to wear it for the last 3 or 4 years....just a big snug. So I went up a size this time and it fits great. If you don't want a really baggy jacket, buy one size smaller than you would a 'civilian' jacket, as these are designed to fit over bulky layers of clothing. I've had an M65 in my closet ever since I was in the Army, and I can't imagine not having one. Propper makes a very good version, though maybe not quite as tough as the ones I was issued in the military. I also chose to go with the black. (my other Propper was also black.) I did have to roll up the sleeves one cuff, they were a little long. I'll probably have to have some alteration made on the sleeves. I don't think it will effect the liner much though since the buttons are above where I would have the cuff hemmed. Should work out just fine. Not the jackets fault....I'm short and wide. lol. When I was in the army these coats were so versatile. Without liner, light and easy to move in. Would keep out a light rain if need be. In Winter with the liner, warm and comfortable. Mine was used as coat, Pillow at night when we were in the field, sometimes blanket if I didn't have my poncho and woobie with me. It was a key piece of Kit that you didn't go anywhere without! BTW, I still have the old Propper M65. It's a little faded but still in great condition. Probably going to give it to a friend of mine, who like most of us, ls living on a tight budget.

GREAT Jacket!
Absolutely GREAT jacket! Being a Veteran I have high expectations on my clothes, gear, and equipment and this M65 Field Jacket is the best “field” jacket out there! Feels great, not heavy, just enough to keep you safe, and looks cool!

Medium 65 for a 5'6
Great jacket with high quality zipper, fabric, and the lining is heavy and warm. Will say it definitely runs larger so go down a size to what you normally wear. I'm 5'6 and I got a medium and I still have room to spare. Pockets are big and buttons are secure and everything seems very well made on this jacket. The jacket in general has got a good weight to it too surprisingly as when you look at it it doesn't look like it weighs as much as it does. Love that it is 50/50 cotton and nylon and hope that the waterproofing is true as they say, maybe will follow back a little later. Only negatives: The sleeves, as they have Velcro to adjust the cuffs and honestly they don't have a long enough strip to make it tighter as the cuffs keep falling over my hands. That and it lacks the typical triangle like wind guard that typical m65 sleeves usually have. Also idk if I got this jacket mixed up with another but I could have sworn it came with inner pockets but I couldn't find them, tho I will say I haven't thoroughly checked yet and removed the liner. Finally and this is just nitpicking but the waist drawstring; definitely knot that string on both sides asap before it gets pulled into the coat and you gotta play fetch or lose it forever.

A Few Minor Discrepancies
I'll begin with the "bad". First the color is EXTREMELY dark. Hopefully after a few hundred washings, it will lighten up. Second, the sleeve cuffs are different from my issue M65 jacket. They lack the flap that folds out to cover your hands in extreme cold. No big deal as I never used them anyway. Next, the zipper is plastic, not brass. That being said, the zipper does appear to be decent quality. Stitching on the Velcro could have been better. I had to go over it again. OK that covers my gripes. On the positive side, the material exactly matches my military issue jacket. As does the basic design. The included liner was of good quality as well. (Mine were issued separately) Fit should be correct. I put on some extra pounds over the years and ordered one size larger than what turned out to be necessary. Don't make that mistake! Order the size you actually wear & you should be fine. I find it ironic that when I returned to the states after The Vietnam War, somewhere between the airplane & the car I passed a dumpster. I had two VERY overstuffed duffle bags that I tossed into it. My primary interests were pretending the war never happened & growing my hair back as fast as I could to rejoin society. Here I am over 50 years later replacing some of my gear. A final note, none of my "gripes" were deal breakers, I'd buy it again.

Great knockabout coat
I love this coat . The camo pattern doesn’t show dirt & stains as much as a solid color. Its size runs true to USGI specs. These make great knockabout coats for camping, fishing, hunting & pretty much any outdoor activity. As a stand alone it’s warm enough to wear in 30-40 degree weather & it’s plenty big enough to layer underneath. The metal snaps & plastic YKK zipper are very sturdy. The coat has a button in liner & if needed you could button in an additional liner for added warmth. People have commented about the Velcro tab placement on the cuff. Yes the tabs could have been sewn for a tighter fit, but for me they are just fine. I adjusted them to the smallest size & my large hands have no problem sliding the coat on or off when adjusted as mentioned. The button flap pockets are sized very generous for dog snacks, water bottle, flashlight, spare magazines, gloves , Ect ..

The XL long was too long in the sleeves.
Great color and fit except for the sleeve length. My fault. Very warm too. I'm not sure if I will ever wear it much as I live in Florida but you never know. I am exchanging it for the regular XL size. Regular size has arrived. Much better sleeve length.

Not Bad, Not Good
Purchasing this I knew it was a Chinese knockoff of the M65 Field Jacket. The Jacket seems to be well made, had some weight to it, and fit ok except for the sleeves. The sleeves are huge both in length and we're very wide. The velcro at the cuff is too short to close the wrist opening. In fact it is to short to do anything. Fix the sleeves and extend the velcro and this would be a good jacket. As it is now, the jacket isn't functional.

Quality
Best field jacket I have found. Great quality. Runs a little on the large side, I bought another one a size smaller and it fits a bit snugger but I also get the larger one for the very cold times in Michigan I may need to wear it over heavier clothing. The jacket with the liner is very warm on its own and meets most of my cold weather needs. Jacket is stylish enough to wear with or without liner out for the evening. Quickly becoming my go to jackets for most occasions
