12 Piece Precision Needle File Set

For the price I paid it's hard to beat this little needle file set. I use it to mostly deeper or shape up rough edges where I had supports on my 3D prints, but now that I have them at the house I end up finding a bunch of uses for them. You can't go wrong for the cost if you need a set of needle files don't be afraid to pick them up.

We use these to file markings into turtle shells (It's a pretty standard procedure for studying turtle populations and does not harm the turtles), and do their job pretty well. They will dull/rust after a while, but given the abuse we put them through they stand up pretty well. The core is made out of a plastic that breaks fairly easily, but we have only really had that issue if they are stepped on... or bitten. They are cheap enough that when they do break/dull, they can be easily replaced; in general a single set will last us more than one season. Good product for the price.

These are definitely a get what you pay for type thing. I ordered these because they were cheap and didnt think I would use them enough to need to spend a ton of money on a set. These are not made from hard steel, its made from a pretty soft steel and broke the first time I used one of the files. These are just an average product, nothing special.

It is nice having a smaller file selection on hand.These are great for precision work and keep a edge well.

Despite their toy like appearance and under a dollar a piece price I have been very happy with these files. I have a pruning saw that has very small circular serrations on the cutting teeth. Almost like a serrated pocket knife. Either of the two round files in this set work quite well. All the larger round files I have simply don't fit. I have used some of the flat files, but mostly I can use larger files I have for flat surfaces. I would treat them as if they were delicate (e.g. don't use them as a pry bar or ice pick) and they should hold up OK.
