Great for a single guy
I got this model with the digital timer as I felt from reading reviews it would be more accurate in time and temperature. I have a countertop mid-sized convection over, about 25 years old that is sort of giving out, so this I thought might be a good replacement and I cook less food than I use to, getting older, I eat smaller amounts. I still have a big oven if i need to actually do larger dishes. So I got this, skimmed through the book, very briefly. It was easy to unpack and set up. Rinse off or wash components first. I found a suitable spot on the corner of my counter.I like to make potato cubes, my own creation. use some small red new potatoes, cut into small cubes. spray lightly with cooking spray and sprinkle with a seasoning. I have a lot of steak or chicken type rubs that also work well for this. In the convection oven i baked them at 400 for 25 minutes, along with a steak, piece of chicken or pork. I'd have to microwave some vegetables. So with the Air Fryer, I started to experiment. My first meal was the same amount of potato cubes. I put them in the bottom of the basket. Put in the wire shelf rack and put on it 1 inch thick prime rib steak, about 2 inches diameter, that was at refrigerator temperature. Set the temp to 360 and timer for 16 minutes. No preheating. When there was 4 minutes left I decided to toss in a handful of frozen baby brussel sprouts. Everything came out almost perfect on my first attempt. The frozen brussel sprouts needed more time, maybe 6 minutes instead of 4 but most of them were almost done except for the very center. I nuked them a minute to finishe them off. Not bad for a first try and the potatoes and steak were better than i ever had out of the convection oven.Next night I did potato cubes and a piece of chicken. I had to run out of brussel sprouts so i nuked something else which was too liquidiy for the air fryer. Again the chicken was great and done well using the same 16 minutes and my potatoes were great again.Night three I reheated some scalloped potatoes and a boneless pork rib. This too came out very good. I did the potatoes on the bottom and lined it with aluminum foil since they had a little sauciness to them. The pork rib i put of the rack. This too worked out very well.So far I have 3 great meals in less time each night. I work hard and like simple meals on works nights. This has made some of that easier.Night 4 I made a mini (single person) frozen pizza. cheese came out almost burnt, really dark brown. tasted ok once it cooled off a little but it was cooked all the way through. I tried I think 12 minutes, from frozen without preheating the oven. That needs less time but that beats the 22 minutes it took in the oven.Day 5 I made a breakfast sandwich in it. Again from frozen. These microwave ok in about 2 minutes. In the air fryer i tried 5. It needs to be disassembled, the sandwich that is. I didn't so i had to put it back in disassembled for another 2 minutes. Next time i'll get it right. But it came out better than i even had out of the microwave. the english muffin was really toasty. The point is experiment. I have the basics down in only a few attempts and a good gauge on what I can do and how long. It was also fun to do this. I really have enjoyed it so far and being able to put my entire meal in at once or almost, but using only one device is certainly a joy.The thing does not get too hot on the outside. After 16 minutes you can still touch the outside and not get burned, although it was warm i would not hold my hands there too long. I guess some heat vents out of it but it did not feel like it was heating up the whole kitchen. You do hear the fan but it is not annoying or overly loud, i know of computers that make more noise. I does have a beep-beep at the end but if you standing near it, you'll hear the fan cut off so i wish i could turn the beep-beep thing off, that to me was a little annoying.Cleanup most nights has been quick with just wiping down a few crumbs on the inside and washing the rack which cleans off very well too, even when it had barbecue sauce all over it from the pork rib. It's pretty easy to clean. I don't use a dishwasher, never have in 34 years, i was everything by hand.I'm going to get the other inserts, the fry/grill pan and the baking dish as i can think of some things those will come in handy for cooking.

I loive this Air Fryer.
I love this little appliance so much, I swear, if it was human I'd marry it! First of all, I have to explain why Iwanted an Air Fryer in the first place. I am twice-widowed and in my late 70's, I live by myself in a medium sized house with no dogs, cats or other household pets in a rural area in the South. As far as animals are concerned however, there have been wild visitors from time to time ranging from mice, possums and raccoons to skunks looking to set up winter housekeeping in my house's crawl space who have been less than welcome, but I have managed to deal with their visits whenever they occurred and so far, so good. Back to the Air Fryer. Like any decent love match, my first attempts to find what I wanted did not run smoothly, but I persevered. When the Phillips HD93026 finally arrived, I was a bit leery after my two experiences with two cheaper brands that were, to put it mildly, not satisfactory. The first one, initially, worked great but died after two weeks and the second was a much cheaper model shipped to me by mistake after I ordered this one, even though its price had made me gulp. For looks, the best way to describe the Air Fryer is to imagine a big, black electric coffee pot that's on steroids. Even though my kids call me "The Gadget Queen" for good reason, I luckily have a kitchen with a separate pantry containing big roomy shelvest, So I had plenty of room for the Air Fryer which I keep it in the kitchen most of the time. Although I again choked a bit at their prices, I ordered the extra accessories, including a small slotted metal grill, a square baking pan and a chrome rack that fits both the grill and the included basket and have been using them on a daily basis since the day everything arrived. Theshipping box included a slim colorful cookbook, which I haven't used quite as much and detailed instructions, plus time and heat comparisons with a regular oven, which I use all the time. As far as reheating goes, I set the recommended heat and leave it run. It beeps after a very few minutes and the AirFryer is ready to go. For a person living alone and preparing small meals, which I do, this appliance is a dream. I have become a regular fan of who knows how many small frozen meals and snacks like chicken wings, cream cheese wontons, egg rolls and the list goes on and on. For vegetables I tend to go for "steam packs" which cook in a matter of minutes in the microwave and, voila! I have an appetizing meal. One of my secret vices is that I adore deep fried crunchy things but don't want to mess with all that oil. I've also found that it does a lovely job on frozen rolls of various kinds and premade sub sandwiches from the deli. In fact, I had a dinner guest a while back and made her a snack with frozen breaded green beans that she swore up and down had to be deep-fried. In closing, one of the reason I'd buy this again is because, unlike the first one I bought, the top of this AirFryer where the convection fan is remains cool. Meaning that it's properly insulated and protected from the intense heat. Yes, I know there are cheaper ones out there, but the thing I really like about this appliance is its all around quality. I've been using it daily now for six months now and, as they say, so far, so good.
