Neato for Japan fans and language learners
I have the US edition SNES Classic and bought this just so I had Japanese language ROMs to play instead on occasion.Whether you just want it as a collectors item or want childhood classics to augment your language learning, SFC/SNES is great either way.Good gameplay, and sentences with more dignity than “see spot run” or “I wear hat”.

1991 has returned, and the greatest console ever made is back!
I remember on my 13th birthday in 1991, I got the best gift you could ever want! In Osaka, it was very hard to find a Super Famicom for sale when it released, but my parents were able to get one and it was and still is my favorite birthday! Fast forward to 2018 and we have the gift of reliving our childhood with Nintendo's Super Famicom Classic Mini! It is one of the greatest consoles ever released, and it will remain one of the greatest! I was thrilled when this came out because while I still have my original Super Famicom from my birthday, I want to keep it in its original box to be kept for all my life! This is the real deal folks!Nintendo is all about quality, and this is another example of it. It is made of strong high grade plastic with working power on/off and reset buttons. The controller inputs are the same as the Famicom Mini and NES Mini. The included HDMI cable and power cord are great quality too. The Super Famicom/SNES controllers are still one of the greatest controllers made, and the quality Nintendo put into them is fantastic. They are just like the originals and work as good too. So the question is, is it worth it?Yes of course! You'd have to be bonkers to question if it's worth it! The games included are fantastic, but remember, this is the Japanese version of the SNES. If you don't read Japanese, you may want to steer clear since many of the games are not easy to play without knowing Japanese. If you are into collecting these classic consoles, do yourself a favor and buy this! They won't remain at this low cost for long!

Collection Piece
Bought for hubby for his collection, fits right in! Or tried the unit but looks cool with the other consoles

Dented packaging, contents OK.
As other reviewers noted, collectible status is mitigated by a dented outer box (the item arrived in a thin bubble-wrap bag). Fortunately, the interior contents appear undamaged, and work fine.

The Cutest Mini Video Game Console Ever
This is an instant collector's item. Many years from now, like the original Super Famicon, people will realize this is a valuable machine. I mean just look at it. It is one of the top 5 best looking video game consoles ever. And this is coming from a guy who preferred the Sega Genesis during that infamous console war period. Most of us grew up with the purple on Grey Super Nintendo version, but that was aesthetically inferior to this one. So grab one while you still can.Oh, and the games are awesome. My favorite, well actually like at least 5 of them are my favorites. There are so many good games on here it is impossible to pick just one.

Japanese SNES mini original, decently packed
The product arrived a few days earlier than expected, even though it had to travel all the way to Europe. And since it was packed well, the insides were fully protected. There is a small dent in the box though. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the product, but it's a bit unfortunate that it's not possible to change the language of the system. It's the real thing, but I don't know if I should recommend it to someone who can't read Japanese.I would consider it, though, if I were to posses the original, if not only to perhaps display the super famicom next to the original one as a collectible and/or to ocasionally play a game that barely contains any cruxial text. Even I'm having some difficulty reading the texts in games like The Legend of Zelda and Kirby. I think that Metroid is the only game that's also fully featured in English. It's just that, as a non native, you often have to look up words in a good (electronic) dictionary. The text is often rather hard to make out, and I'm not used to it.Also, to those young people who are just learning Japanese and want to buy this thing, because IT IS a real SNES, maybe it's better to start exercising some patience first and try to store this thing up where you can't reach it and forget about it.Aside from that, know that this version does not contain Castlevania or Earthbound and that it contains a slightly altered list. This gameslist is still decent though, and I really think that every game is still enjoyable even today. In summary, knowing that this Japanese version is a lot cheaper and better looking than the US version, it's hard to be really disappointed.

Awesome, Real Deal - Can be converted to USA!
Awesome console! This is the real deal. The box arrived nicely, and was not damaged. I was able to mod it and it was beyond easy!!! I changed the menu language to English, removed all the Japanese games, and installed the 30 games included with the USA SNES Classic version. I plan to add plenty more along with the NES Classic games.Things to note:This console is in Japanese, and can not be changed to English without using app Hackchi2.It comes with a USB power cable, but NOT a USB power supply or adapter. An old phone charger should work fine though.Google "convert super famicom mini to snes mini" if you'd like to easily convert this to English.
