Happy overall, easy to use and assemble but can be noisy
Owner for a month! My husband and I went shopping for an elliptical as due to my recent knee surgery, our 12 year old Proform treadmill was off limits to me. We looked at many, but settled on this one. Best price at Amazon. For the price this is great, easy to assemble (all parts present and easily identified), instructions well done. Works well, easy to use, reviews re fan are right on, just pretend it doesn't have one - the ones at our gym didn't. Extra sweat, sweat pounds away! You do need an outlet and adequate space for it. It folds up somewhat, but easier to leave it there, so plan on that. Stride length is great and you can shift to vary it (unless you are really bigfoot - size 15+) and you stand comfortably erect and not tipped forward as on most front mounted. Very stable and solid even when torqued up (by husband, not me!)One small unused bedroom rearranged and 90 minutes later, we were in business! I jumped on, okay at 165lbs with a bad knee, I didn't exactly jump, but let your imagination do as it may! Cranked away on it, yeah yeah, bad knees again maybe not cranking exactly. Great work out, gentle on knees, shifting stride in good sized foot pads gives different muscles different work out, incline up works gluts and hamstring better. Only one problem - depending on foot placement (load placement)- it either is quiet or can thump. Hopefully it wont get worse, but a slight shifting of the weight seems to work for now.Overall, for the price, and ease of use, delivery and assembly, I am happy and the husband is too - I am losing the weight I gained due to bad knee (no more excuses - darn it! Hmmm, make that a four star - I have no excuses to work off the weight or being a couch potatoe, butttt I can eat more treats! Go back to 5 stars, a win win! Priced right, get results with minimum problems = happy customer! :)!

Great product
Replaced a Schwinn with this one.Pros:- Easy set-up. Compared to the Schwinn, took about half the time. Still a little tricky, and definitely need 2 people.- Backlight is excellent- Easy to select programs. Like alot of ellipticals, there are some interesting/cool features...that I never use. The basic ones that I use 75% of the time are perfectly designed. I jump on, start pedaling, hit a few buttons to add resistance, boom I'm off and running- Solid construction. Have used for a few months, 2-4 times a week, it's still quiet.- Solid base. The distance between the front/back base is longer than most ellipticals in this category. It helps the elliptical feel more solid and move less when using.- Bubbles on pedals help keep feet from falling asleepCons:- I feel like the resistance is too much in the lower #'s. With most ellipticals at the gym, I'm somewhere between 10 and 18. with this one, I'm at 5. That might be a big deal if you only do 5-10 at a gym.- The fan, as many others have said, is kinda weak. For the purposes of your evaluation, I'd consider it non-existent.- I don't use the ifit...too much work for what I need it to do. So to me, it's unnecessary...this could easily be a pro if you like this feature.- Maybe it's me, but the stride doesn't seem to be as advertised. Without thinking, I'll find my feet half off the back of the pedals. Can't say this is anything but a problem for my legs, so only keep this as a tiebreaker with another product.I apologize for not being able to view some of the other features, since I just don't use them. I'm happy with my purchase, and I recommend it if it's priced competitively.

Arrggh!!
**Update***This Elliptical worked quite well for a few weeks then it clunked out. It started to make weird noises and got difficult to use. I assumed that I just didn't put it together properly. So I called someone and had them take a look at it. They took the whole thing apart, put it back together again, re-greasing all the parts and it worked.. for another 2 weeks. I'm not impressed and definitely would not recommend this product to anyone. To make matters worse it cost $100 to get 1-800-junk to haul it away.**Old Review**So, I (25 yr old female) put this together. It definitely doesn't require two people. The hardest thing.. getting it out of the box (seriously, it's heavy).Putting it together is a sticky situation. It requires certain parts to be greased (provided) before being fit together. There were several times where I had to put the grease on the part and then wash my hands in order to continue.Like other reviewers I'll join the chorus that this elliptical is whisper quiet, which is absolutely wonderful! It also allows you to connect your iPod (or whatever) into its speaker system while you workout. The good stuff ends there. In order to use the ifit or google maps features, you have to by a proform wireless module... which costs between $89-100. Additionally, ifit requires a subscription... that's an additional $100/yr. I'm sure some copycat company will come out soon and I won't have to shell out $100 bucks but it's super annoying to have spent $700 on an elliptical and then not be able to use its key features without spending even more money.

Good machine
It's very heavy to lift while still in the box. It's better to open the box and move it piece by piece to the spot you are going to use it. Good instructions, read them carefully.Good work out, much better than my treadmill
