So, I will say I bought the original base for these replacements at a pet store. My cat gets bored very easily and it can be hard to keep up with playtime. I figured he could use a toy that moves (he is scared of the mice that move around), so when I saw it, I had to try it out.He LOVES this thing. He waits for us to turn it on, he'll play with it when it's off (found a butterfly in front of my bedroom door in the morning), he'll play with it for hours! Set up is simple, easy, it only needs a few batteries. The butterflies are a bit fragile, and he has a habit of dragging it around, so he was without the original two for three days. We actually had to move the base away from him because he was trying to turn it on without a butterfly in, and he was getting pissy with us because we were ignoring him.I highly recommend this to any kitty who likes to play, but you have a full time job and not much energy to play with your kitty!

One of my cats likes to drag this toy around by the butterfly in his mouth, which leads to fairly quick damage and need to be replaced. But I love him, and so I don't mind. Glad it's so easy to get more of them, and the price is so reasonable.

I just received this toy today. My cats have been playing with it for over 2 hours. When turned on, the feather portion of the toy randomly pokes out of the various holes around the bottom. Then the butterfly starts fluttering around. These two attractions cycle over and over. They have caught and pulled on the butterfly several times. It seems sturdy and will withstand the abuse of my four cats. It came charged and has been going for the 2 hours so that seems like a decent battery life. It came with a charger. My cats are happy customers.

The media could not be loaded.  I was hopeful that this toy would be engaging. So far so good! We’ve had it for a few days, and used it many times, and the battery life has not been a problem. We’ve only charged it once and it’s been on for at least a few hours altogether.The only thing I would change and the design would be these two things:1) It’s lightweight so it is easy to knock over.2) The slow speed is not very slow and only goes up from there. But there is a random option that we use because it slows down and speeds up to differentiate the modes which is enticing for our cats.Overall, I think it’s great, the three level ring with the balls is fun and then the fluttering butterfly moves and it’s fun to watch them enjoy themselves!

The media could not be loaded.  Where do I start other than with WOW!! I must have ordered 4-5 of these “types” of mechanical spinning toys, and all were returned but this one. Now my baby girl needs her butterfly toy time everyday. & when I’ve gotten distracted & forget, she lets me know by playing with the balls. I also can’t tell you how grateful I am for the developers making this a rechargeable unit. I have spent SOOOO much on batteries in the past, & in some cases for far less spinning power. This toy is sturdy, powerful, & holds a charge for at least a week. I love the alternating speeds options as well, which keeps my girl guessing. If you’re on the fence about this toy, jump right off & buy now.

I like it but it is made to be destroyed. My cat destroys it within a couple of weeks.

My cat loves to butterfly but the battery life is very short im having to recharge everyday if I want him to be able to use it but he plays with the butterfly even when its dead

Highly recommended. Buy some extra butterflies, however.
