Does that it claims to
Easy to use. Saves me a lot of time. Keeps my fingers smelling normal. The black rubber thing that claims to rub off the garlic peel...it's questionable. I don't think it's worth using it. If there is any moisture inside the tube, it won't work.

It does what it’s supposed to
This does it’s job well, cleaning it is a bit of a pain since garlic tends to get stuck in the holes and you will have to use a toothpick or something similar to poke them out.Cut your garlic in a way so that it does not roll or slide away from this, if you just used unpeeled garlic, it tends to slide away at the start but once you crushed a bit of the garlic it works wonders.I do wish it came with a scraper to remove the crushed garlic instead of a bottle opener, a bit random to have that bundled in.Besides the issues with the cleaning, this serves it’s purpose well.

Almost more trouble than it's worth...
I had a pretty hard time getting it to successfully crush the garlic. It was more of a smushing and flattening type of action and not much came through the other side. It's difficult to clean and was just a bit too much of a hassle for me.

It works, not easy to clean out.
Works great as a press but it's hard to clean out which means you waste some food as it's stuck in the holes. Not a lot of food but enough to make me drop one star from the review.

Steel is light weight,
Have used a rocker Garlic presser for years. Love them... and thought I'd lost I'd my original press so I bought this one. Overall, no where near as strong or effective as my first one. Quality is average, the wholes are worthless for stripping herbs, inexpensive but simply not heavy enough to be efficient and effective. Disappointed.

Great garlic press!
Update: After some trial and error, I now love this garlic press! It’s the only one I use. There is some learning curve. Here’s what I’ve discovered:It is easier if you smash the clove with the side of a knife first. This is an easy way to remove the skin anyway.I’ve also found it helpful to place the garlic on a plate instead of the counter. You want a lot of leverage to press down on the cloves. You can actually press several cloves at a time without scraping off the garlic from the underside. The press will cut through the thin inner skin of the clove (not the paper skin). So you can just keep pressing through one clove after another. It’s really important to rock it back and forth, to work the press through the cloves. If you use it correctly, you will have hardly any garlic remaining in the little holes, and then just use the brush and water to clean it easily.***This garlic press is very different from the one I used to have, which has the little opening to put the clove inside and then you press the handles together. I think this one works fine, but I would probably recommend it as an alternative, and not your main garlic press. So #1, yes, the holes are much bigger than a traditional garlic press. I am fine with that. You can always mince what you've pressed with a knife if you want smaller pieces. One thing I don't care for is that it leaves a lot of the garlic on the underside of the press. So even after you've scraped off the garlic you pressed, there is still a lot of garlic in the holes and on the bottom of the press. You have to peel off the remaining piece of garlic, and there's still a good amount of garlic; it's not just the "skin." So I ended up mincing that up and using it.I like that it's easy to clean because they give you a little brush to clean out the holes. And I like the way you can rock the press to really squeeze out the garlic. What I didn't like is the amount of garlic I felt like I was throwing away, or else having to mince it. I think it's a great alternative, but I'm still on the hunt to replace my original garlic press.

Imperfections
I like this is an all metal utensil & the size also is good. However, I do not like that there is a faint worn area on the edge of the press surface. Worse, there's also a tiny nick on the edge that is sharp.I hope it will be easily filed down, but I would have preferred the item to arrive in perfect condition.

Perfection!
Awesome! I highly recommend it. It’s one piece so shouldn’t fall apart, very sturdy and sharp. Perfect, I love it, every home should have one!

Fabulous!
I loathe fiddling about with garlic presses and detest cleaning them afterwards. This is quick and easy to use, doesn't leave you with lumps in the press to gouge out and is very easy to clean. Gosh I love this
