Best Tabletop Grill I Could Find! UPDATED:
Wanted to replace an older 4 burner grill with something smaller, but not too portable. Didn't want a stainless grill (too hard to maintain and are flimsy thin), and really wanted cast iron grates. This is a well cast and finished aluminum. The grates are indeed a good cast iron. The whole design of this grill is well thought out and manufactured.Took about 15 minutes to put together, and, because of its shape it would have gone quicker with a second set of hands. I seasoned the grates with a high smoke point oil in the oven. The pizio ignighter worked first time and every time. I put a 5 foot hose on for a 20 lbs tank. Works great....Just finished my first rib eye steak and am very very pleased. I let it warm up for 10 minutes and got a beautiful sear (and didn't stick). Left the lid open for steak, and it did not lose heat. The burner tube's layout, the flame shield, and the shape of the fire bowl heats the cooking surface more evenly than I could have hoped for.Definitely a great value for My money.Update: Submitted some photos. I failed to mention how nice the grease trap is. It's powder coated and super sweet to clean. I kept the stand from my old 4 burner grill, and trimmed out and mounted an old sink 'blank' for a nice cart.... I am proud...

Sturdy Little Grill With Nice Size and Features
Just received this Nexgrill 1-burner grill today, assembled in about 15 minutes. I have not cooked anything yet, but my first impression is the grill is extremely well-made - reminds me of my old Weber full size. Assembly was easy with good instructions. The grill appears to be sturdy, and lighted up with a single click of the igniter. It heated on high very quickly, even to the point the heat shield was glowing red, so I do NOT believe "low" heat will be an issue. Will see tomorrow how it performs on some hamburgers with the flame turned down a bit.My favorite part is the grill is only 16 lbs, which is highly mobile and perfect for RV usage.I also purchased a griddle that replaces one of the grids (SAF-B-QUE) so that is pretty cool.Wish me luck with my burgers !

Not as advertised.
As one of the other reviewers said, even though it lists having folding legs, it doesn't! Also the owner's guide says it has folding legs and a lid latch! I guess Nexgrill doesn't care about keeping track of their literature and giving correct information. That being said, if this grill had those 2 missing items, it would probably be the perfect portable grill. It is well made, a nice size for 2 person camping, heats up nicely and the Piezo ignitor works great. It's going to be a little more difficult moving it around but I will make it work.

Best bang for your buck
Love this grill. I use it all the time. Has really held up. Even bought a converter to use a 20 pound tank.

RUINED their previously great design for novelty Griddle...
I Have used nexgrill's previous model that was very similar to this for probably five or six years. Unfortunately the igniters rusted out, and replacement parts were no longer available (I have a feeling that the igniters for the new model probably identical to the igniters for the old model). Oh well time for a new barbecue I guess, and I've been happy with the way these cook. The cast iron grills are pretty easy to take care of, I do recommend a cover because water can get in around the thermometer on top.I'm taking one star off my review because when I received my new barbecue and unpacked everything and started putting it together I found that the bolt holes that hold the handle on one side we're not threaded or tapped. The small manufacturing oversight was a huge inconvenience, since this requires assembly and is rather heavy. Before it was even half assembled I had to take it back apart and pack it back up and lug it up to the UPS store.UPDATE (there go ALL the stars!):After getting my replacement grill, I found that I had similar difficulty getting the bolts to thread into the bolt holes. It's not that they aren't threaded, they are just so misaligned that you have to use excess force to get the bolt to start threading. I even checked to make sure the bolts would go in to each hole without the handles in place, and they did...but when I tried to attach the handles all the sudden the bolts were incredibly difficult to get in.After having spent some time using my new BBQ I've come to the conclusion that Nexgrill took the perfectly great design of their older model and made terrible design modifications in order to offer a novelty "Griddle" feature that is pretty much useless. First of all, if I want to pan fry something I don't need to be outside, I can use a cast iron pan indoors on my stove, or I can use a cast iron pan on top of the grill. My cast iron griddle went right into one of my already overcrowded kitchen cabinets where it will probably live forever...unused. I can't imagine trying to care for the thing, the hours of brushing and seasoning to stave of the big "R"...for what...so I can use it once in a blue moon. The trade off for this feature is a new burner design, with top facing holes that clog with food debris because the steel plates that protected the burners on the old model don't exist on the new model (the griddle wouldn't fit if they were there). To work around this they decided to make the cast iron cooking grates have weird solid filled space over where the burners are, which makes them more difficult to clean. My old model had NO hot spots, but this new one has an excessive amount of holes around the igniters that produce excessive heat in just one area of the grill. The old model had side facing holes on the burners, while the new one has half as many upward facing holes. On the old model I used to be able to toast hamburger buns beautifully all over the grill, but now they burn if I put them in the wrong spot. Also, even a mild breeze blows out the burners when they're on low, even with the lid closed. I'm not talking about wind, I'm talking about a very gentle breeze. I come back out to check on my food and it's sitting there being bathed in stinky smelling propane and not cooking.I would have been more than happy to repair my old BBQ had the parts still be made available, but of course they were discontinued. I regret throwing away the old grill because even though the igniters rusted out, I could still use a match or something. I used my old grill for 6+ years and I didn't want to get rid of it.I was so excited to be getting a brand new nexgrill, "like my old one", but this is NOT like my old one. This is what happens when you let some "suit and tie" in upper management push a novelty idea through production in spite of all the serious drawbacks and design flaws because they're looking to compete with Blackstone. I urge nexgrill not to make this mistake again, because I think it's probably more important that you retain customers over the long run by making a truly quality product than try than win over a few people with a stupid novelty griddle feature. Hopefully their next design will get back to focusing on just being a great BBQ instead of some kind of BBQ/griddle fusion cooking system that no one asked for. Next time the engineers tell the suits, "that's going to cause a problem", listen to the engineers..not the suits.

The grill is fine. The only problem is that the handle was broken. They promptly sent me a new one. Only problem is that the handleon the new one was also broken. Crazy, I gave up. I will just havea grill with one good handle.
