Pretty nice
The kick spd one has Great features. I returned it and got another percussion spd one instead because It has a better selection of sounds. In fact I have 4 percussion spd ones around a large electronic kit. Not interested in the electro spd one because the sounds don't interest me. The percussion spd one in my opinion is the best for my purposes. All the sounds are usable. The sounds vary with velocity and the reverb and delay are nice. The playing surface is pretty hard. Would prefer if it had some give. These little boxes can be tweaked on the fly. Very convienent. You can change the sensitivity and threshold like most drum modules. The build quality is good. Overall these trigger pads are really nice. Pretty high quality. Would serve a hybrid kit best although I added them to an electronic kit in leau of getting another sound module and more pads.

Works Great!
I would only recommend this for musicians who are performing live or doing some professional home recording as it's pretty expensive, but it sounds great. I had another stompbox I was using for a few years I bought for $40 and it worked great too, but the sound on this is so much better and gives you way many other options (20 or so built-in effects). I've already used it 2 times now live and pretty much stick to the kick and tambourine setting. The only thing I don't like is the battery power doesn't last long, so be sure to get a power cable or use your daisy chain if you have one.

LOVE IT and it's easy to operate
Love this pedal for my percussion needs! I'm a solo musician and play guitar while singing and this really helps fill things/sound up for me. Most of the videos for this kick pad show people playing it with their toes but I set mine up to use the heel of my foot. It makes it way more comfortable for me while playing guitar and singing. Pretty darn durable also!!!!!!! I did have my first one I purchased malfunction, but I took it apart and sprayed dust cleaner in it and then sprayed the Knob shafts around with Peavey electronic cleaner...No more issues!

No power supply, just batteries that will last 3 hours.
For $300 you would think Roland could include the very specific power supply, but no.

great sound and variety
I tried the logjam type and the sound sounded too thin. I wanted to add a kick drum like sound. This does the job well. I've had it for a couple months now and have not had any issues. I like the options that give you a wide variety of sounds.

A good unit... Certainly worth it at the sale price.
The SPD::One Kick is a well made unit and seems tough enough to take on the road. At the regular price it's a bit expensive but at the sale price of 50% off it is well worth the money. The kick sounds are decent, though nothing extraordinary. My one criticism is that there are too few kick drum sounds, given that this unit is supposed to be dedicated to that instrument. Still, it's a useful tool and much better sounding than the piezo pickup stomps that it competes with.

Quality stomp box
Works great. Glad I didn’t skimp and get a cheap stomp box.

Misleading photos and description, but great product!
Great Roland product, misleading listing photos! The product listing photos show the spd 1 with a power supply and another photo of the power supply by itself and nowhere in the description does it says "power supply not included " The description just says works with batteries or power supply

Excellent device. Just what I needed to add to my one man band setup. Good range of sounds, enjoyable and fun to use, easy to carry around as it is small enough and worth the money.
