No, don’t glue the sleeve in place. The mortar bed and tile will hold the drain and insert in place

Q: Has anyone had this product for an extended period of time? Any failure or quality issues?

8 months all good. The only part that can fail is the plastic stablizers. They give you extras. See if you can order them.
