Great light with excellent CRI
Love this flashlight. Tried many similar 14500 / AA lights, including the Tool AA 3.0 and this ones always wins out. The nichia version has a higher CRI which means it has better color rendering and field of depth, which is perfect for my use. Some of the other 14500 / AA lights have higher lumen but lack in CRI.This light is extremely sturdy for its size and easy to carry. The mechanical tail switch is nice and clicky and does not easily accidentally activate. The tail switch does illuminate when used with a 3.7v 14500 battery, which causes a slight drain over time but I actually quite like. There are many guides/videos online that show how to deactivate it if not needed. There is also a glow in the dark element inside the lens, which adds a nice effect after use.

Fantastic 4000k neutral led tint from the Nichia version of this light!
When I first bought this light, I bought the regular cool white led emitter version. I loved everything about the flashlight, except for the led emitter color tint. The regular version emitter color is kind of a mix between blue and purple, with a yellow ring around the hot spot. I was VERY disappointed with the regular version. The led tint on the regular version is horrible…at least in my opinion.Now….this version of the light with the Nichia led, is EXACTLY what I have been looking for! The tint color is a spot on 4000k neutral white. I’m now EXTREMELY happy with this flashlight! The light up tail cap isn’t a deal breaker either, and that’s only if you use a 14500 battery to power the light. If you use a regular alkaline AA, or a NiMh rechargeable battery, then the tail cap won’t light up at all. Granted though, using a 14500 does increase this lights brightness, but that’s only if you like having a pocket rocket. The light can get pretty hot running on turbo with 14500 batteries. On the other settings with a 14500, there is hardly no heat up at all.Does the tail cap led cause some battery drain…yes, but you can slightly twist the tail cap to cut them off when running on a 14500 battery. Also…if you look online, you can order a tail cap that does not light up for this light, and…if you like to work on things yourself, there is a way to take the tail cap apart and disable the two leds. ( See the review from “Goodlife” for this same light. This reviewer fully explains how to remove the tailcap led’s. )All in all…this Nichia version of this flashlight has so much to offer. Small, lightweight, reverse clicky tail cap switch ( which avoids cutting on the light accidentally in your pocket ), having 4 modes of light to choose from ( low - medium - high - turbo ), the fit and finish on this light is really outstanding for such an in-expensive flashlight, and with the Nichia led, you get a wonderful neutral white color tint, that has a higher CRI rating.I HIGHLY recommend this Nichia version only, of the Lumintop Tool AA 2.0.**********Update********This flashlight has held up VERY, VERY well, and is still the BEST deal out there for a lightweight pocket 14500/AA light, that comes with a 4000k high CRI LED, and can take some punishment at a physical labor job.Warning from a flashlight enthusiast……Flashlights don’t stay around forever. Companies in China discontinue flashlight models all the time. Get this light while it’s still available. Don’t procrastinate. You won’t be sorry.

Purchased dozens, first failure after 4 years
I love everything about Lumintop single cell flashlights. I started purchasing them in 2018. My very first failure occurred in 2024 when the click tail cap switch stopped working. Owning many Tool AA models that came with click and magnet tail caps means my 4 year old Lumintop soldiers on.These lights have all been reliable and extremely functional. They offer sensible illumination levels, solid designs and well thought out interfaces.Unfortunately most people focus on cheapest price an highest lumins. Fortunately those other overpowered battery eating lights with flash modes fail quickly.I don't baby tools. Honestly many of these lights do sit around in: glove boxes, consoles, bedsides, backpacks, keychains, coat pockets, first aid kits and motorcycle boxes. But a handful traveled almost 40,000 miles motorcyle camping over most of North America in 2023. I recall only one dark tent setup when I pulled out a light with a dead rechargeable battery inside. The backup light was handy and filled in until I could recharge it. Battey life is so good tou forget about it. These are lights I can depend on and actually use.

Received Cree Panda White Tool AA "3.0" rather than "2.0"
I have a green Tool AA 3.0 that I ordered a few months ago and am happy with it. It's nice to have a backup light with a tail cap glow that's easier to find in a pure blackout scenario. So I ordered a Cree Panda White Tool 2.0 in December because I wanted to compare with the 3.0What I received: The packaging, non-flashlight accessories, and lack of included 14500 battery are as expected with the 2.0. However, I noticed that the User Manual says Tool AA 3.0The flashlight color is Panda White. However, the label on it says "Tool AA 3.0" rather than "2.0”. When I put a spare 14500 battery to check the tail cap led indicator, it is RGB like the 3.0 rather than the steady blue of the 2.0. Emitter light output is similar to my 3.0.So I'm wondering if Lumintop is phasing out Cree Panda White 2.0 and giving it a 3.0 version emitter in the same flashlight body color.Don't know yet if I'll exchange it in hopes to get a true 2.0 for comparison or just keep it.
