The Very Fairy Princess

My 4 year-old daughter honestly believes herself to be a princess. We have not discouraged this idea. It makes her feel special and confident and it has been a great tool to help us with everything from potty training (there's actually a book about princess potty training and you get sparkly jewel stickers on your tiara with every successful trip to the potty) to sharing with her sister and behaving well in general. Now that she's in preschool she's starting to ask if all girls are princesses. I worried she might be comparing herself to other girls or perhaps losing touch with her inner "sparkle" as she finds other girls don't believe themselves to be princesses. This book was great for reinforcing her belief in herself and keeping this innocent but powerful confidence and fairy tale excitement alive for a while longer. My daughter happens to eat pancakes for breakfast often (sometimes they're just the half dollar frozen ones because the Queen is very busy with an infant princess as well these days) so right from the start this book clicked with my daughter. I have purchased the Christmas title from this series and plan to attach it to our Christmas countdown advent calendar. I expect we'll eventually own the entire series. What a lovely surprise this series was for us. Bravo -- well done.

The book arrived in plenty of time for Christmas and was in great condition. I actually ordered several of them for my little nieces who are all Princesses. I think they will love having their mom or dad read this story to them over and over. A very positive message. I recommend the book very highly.

Adorable! All my girls, from age 11 to 1, love this book.

my 14 month old isn't interested yet, but this looks like a super cute one to read to her a few months down the line. Is there audio somewhere of Julie Andrews reading it? I would love to have my boo read along to that. It would be super cute. She's just now getting into her Fisher Price princess castle so I can see her really loving this series. I saw Julie Andrews on Colbert talking about her newest princess book and another time about her dump truck series for boys. You can guess where that one went- haha.

Very sweet and special little book for a grandma to read to a 5 year old little princess...at Grandma's house...not to be taken home with her to get torn up or sold at a garage sale. It's a bonding book to be read with an adult, with "big" words that might need explaining in a fun and sweet manner.

this is a fun read. pictures are great and the story itself is a nice length and has a cool message. i knew my 3 yr old girl would love it (and she does) but i was surprised that my son really liked it too.

Bought this because of my love and admiration for Julie Andrews. Such a cute book!

One of my favourite children's books ever.

Great idea. Shows the many responsibilities required by a person of authority however the books reads a tad like a repetitive lecture so I'm not that fond of it.That said my four year old likes it well enough.
