This manual worked great for a French class. Not sure that it would be great for self study, but it might be.

We could not play the videos and audios on our DVD player / TV here in the US. it is encrypted for Europe only.

I was assigned this book as part of a 101 French course through the Alliance Francaise. This book is very difficult to use at home by yourself as it is all in French and uses words we have not been exposed to yet.There has to be a better way to present French to non-French speakers. I have found myself relying heavily on Google translate just to understand what each subsection is about and what the exercises are asking me to do. At this point I am not learning French but learning to use Google Translate.The enclosed CD is useless as no one has CD players anymore and you need to listen to it to complete listening exercises.
