Great Upgrade from C-Hook
Beautiful attachment, great functionality. This is superior to the KitchenAid C-hook from what I've seen so far, which is admittedly only making tortilla dough, but I just got this yesterday. What I make the most is potato bread, a decidedly stickier dough, and I will update this if the spiral hook does any less than awesome on that. Was really impressed with the hook's action though, which pushed the dough into the bottom of the mixing bowl rather than flinging it all around the sides. Seemed much more efficient. No dough crept up the hook, and there was nothing to scrape down the sides. The bowl came out almost perfectly clean. The polished stainless looks great, and matches the new attachment hub cover I got for my KA. Planning to get the matching pastry paddle.

Works Perfectly with My KitchenAid Mini — Heavy-Duty and Reliable
I purchased this stainless steel dough hook for my KitchenAid stand mixer mini and it fits and performs exceptionally well. I struggle to find attachments for my precious 3.5 QT mini and I’m glad I was able to find this affordable dough hook. It’s very easy to attach and use. Right out of the box, it felt solid—definitely not flimsy or coated like some original accessories. I appreciate the all stainless steel construction, especially since it’s rustproof and there’s no risk of chipping like enamel-coated hooks. I’ve used it for bread dough, pizza crust, and even some heavier pasta dough—this spiral hook handled it all without strain. Cleanup is effortless: dishwasher safe and easy to rinse if you’re hand washing. If you’re replacing a worn-out dough hook or want to avoid the chipping issues of coated versions, this is an excellent upgrade. Just double-check your model compatibility. Pros: • Heavy-duty stainless steel • No chipping or coating to worry about • Easy to clean • Kneads evenly and efficiently Cons: • Haven’t found any Overall, I’m very pleased and would definitely repurchase.

Bought it. Tried it. Love it.
This spiral hook is even better in person than it looked on line. It is highly polished, heavy, and most importantly to me, SOLID steel... not welded. Highly polished or chrome plated so it cleans extremely easily. And it fit my K5SS model so perfectly I didn't have to adjust the mixer head... it just swirls around near the bottom of the bowl while the dough is cleaning the sides of the bowl instead of riding up the dough hook. You have to watch it to see how much better it mixes than the original dough hook. It's mesmerizing. One final note; because it seems to engage entire mass of dough instead of whiffing past it like the OEM dough hook, I think the mixer is working harder. It seemed to heat up more than usual. But the dough was awesome.

Stainless steel spiral dough hook, a step forward in machine kneading.
I make a lot of dough and have used the traditional C-style dough hook for years, but this design reaches much further into the bowl and significantly reduces the need to stop and push dry ingredients into the wet during the initial autolyse. Everything gets incorporated more evenly right from the start. Once the autolyse is finished, switching to a spiral dough hook really shines. A spiral hook stretches and folds the dough more efficiently, keeping it pressed against the bowl instead of just dragging it around. This results in better gluten development, a more consistent knead, and less heat buildup in both the dough and the mixer compared to the traditional hook. For anyone who makes bread regularly, the spiral hook is simply more effective and produces better dough with less effort.

A game changer for dough quality
I don't want to sound dramatic, but this thing is a total game changer! I've been making a 300 gram pizza dough at 65% hydration in my Kitchen Aid stand mixer for years. With a 50/50 blend of bread flour and 00 pizza flour, it sometimes takes a long time to get a good gluten structure with the stock dough hook. That's not to mention the time and effort wasted scraping down the bowl and coaxing the dough hook to do its job. This spiral hook makes amazing gluten structure very quickly. I would guess, half the time it takes the stock dough hook to make equal amount of structure. This hook will fully integrate the ingredients of my 300 gram pizza dough without any scraping or other intervention. Just turn it on low, and let it work. Within seconds it was already pulling away from the bowl and was completely mixed within about a minute or so. I like to add about 2 teaspoons of olive oil to my pizza dough part way through the kneading process. With the stock dough hook, I would usually have to do some hand kneading to integrate the oil but this hook was able to pull it back together in just a few seconds. The entire batch was completely kneaded and reading for proofing in record time. The final proofed dough had very nicely developed gluten structure. Better than I ever get with the stock dough hook. Working and forming the dough was easy and the finished pizza had an amazing chewy yet tender crust. Some of the best pizza I've ever made. I'm going to make a double or triple batch next time and see how it handles a larger dough mass. It worked up this 300 gram pizza dough in no time and it was one of the best I've ever made. Thoroughly impressed with this item.

Fits in the mixer.
Very sturdy, in one piece, with no seams. Appears to be made entirely of stainless steel. Fits in the mixer.

Works perfectly! Quality is fantastic!
Worked really well on my 4.5 qt tilt head Mixer. Improvement over hook that comes with it. Pleasantly surprised and dough did NOT climb up and become stuck. I didn’t need to change the calibration of the machine at all.

I have an enamel coated dough hook that was beginning to chip, and had concerns about the coating ending up in food. Lots of nasty stuff can happen. This one is a very solid feeling piece of steel. I can't tell if it's just one piece, or if there's welds. I think it's just one piece, which I think is good for longevity and strength. It does weigh SIGNIFICANTLY more than the original dough hook. The enamel one is 142g. This steel one is a double at a whopping 281g. I have to think that amount of weight is going to mean more wear on the motor, and also it'll be significantly scarier if something drops into the mixing bowl while it's going (stainless WHACK!).

Der Knethaken vermischt alle Zutaten gründlich und fix, was der Original Knethaken von KitchenAid nicht tut, da er keine Spiralwindung hat. Ich habe ihn sogar ein zweites Mal gekauft und verschenkt.

I did my first batch of Artisan dough weighing 600g. Unlike the original KitchenAid dough hook, this stainless steel dough hook performed exceptionally and the dough did not creep up the hook. I have a 4.8 Litre Tilt head KitchenAid. Works better than the original. I have read that some experienced the dough sticking into the cavity where the hook attaches to the machine spindle. I did not experience that. Perhaps because I worked with a smaller batch of dough.

Great for dough, the lack of a painted finish means no concern about chipping. Fits onto the KitchenAid perfectly and easily. Unlike the standard dough hook, this doesn’t cause the dough to climb up the attachment, so everything mixes better and stays in the bottom of the mixer. Functions far better than the standard dough hook.

The dough hook that comes with the stand mixer is a safety hazard since the coating can peel and chip after repeated use. This attachment is a major upgrade. You can use with peace of mind due to the stainless steel construction. Very durable. I make dough multiple times a week and it still looks like it did the day I received it.
