Wow! Surprised and highly recommend!
In a sea of C stands etc. and battling name brands, this company has never disappointed and this stand is top notch - spring loaded safety drops surprised me! All fittings and tensions and thinking of the straight and boom configuration has leveraged other industries innovations, notably the drum equipment stand world etc. The quick adjust main angle handle is a pro touch. I never rate or review ever, this stuff changes the game at this price point, it's not cheap cheap but it's a thing you get more value for the price. And you will want 3-4 of these hanging around for weird needs and uses. Thanks Newer and seller!

Nice stand for the price!
I second guess this stand until it arrived. Extremely sturdy and very well built. I thought it was gonna be a thin and chinsy stand, it’s not. It’s solid!

Surprising GOOD
I already own several of Neewer's C-Stands and also some lightweight Cowboy Light Stands. I LOVE the versatility and sturdiness of the C-Stands but I had a specific lighting need to supplement my studio, and the Cowboy stands were not cutting it. However, I did not want to spend the same dollar amount as the C-Stands.So I took a chance on this half-as-expensive Light Stand. I needed both height and a boom arm.So, for the most part, I was pleased with what I got. The actual boom and stand is very heavy duty but the legs are not as great as a C-Stand. HOWEVER, I could compensate for the stability with two sandbags (the unit comes with only one and no sands or rocks). One sandbag on the end of the boom and then another weighing down the base. Problem solved. The other "issue" is that this 2-in-1 is more like one or the other . . .not both. Yes, if you combine both poles, this thing is TALL . . .9 feet is higher than my ceiling. But if you want to use the boom, the main support is only about 4 feet (which is stated) and then the boom extends out. This was the config I needed to get my light 7.5 feet off the ground and "leaning" into the scene. For me PERFECT but your needs may vary.Still for the price, it is flexible in the config and with the sandbag placement, perfect for many scenarios. (However, if you can afford twice the price, look at the C-Stands)

Great, light-weight portable stand
We used small sand bags but only to error on the side of caution. These stands, we purchased two are so light weight and easy to move. It speed up our production immensley!

Girth
I was skeptical because of the price. I already ordered other ones thinking they’d be fine for the cheap price they were, but quickly realize… “NO.”This stand works well and is solid!!I don’t have a clue it looked up what people out in the weight bag. I know they said sand? But I just took the small weight bricks out of my weighted workout vest. Have never looked up prices but I’d say that’s a good tip.

(UPDATED) Seems pretty durable, but lacking in stability and portability
It feels pretty durable and like it could withstand a good amount of weight, but it has it's issues.Firstly, it doesn't have any protection/friction on the feet, it actually ended up leaving some scratches on my hardwood floor. It also skids and canbe easily moved.Secondly, it doesn't even come with a carrying bag! Folded - this thing is about half my height! (mind you, I'm 1.86m tall..) so carrying it around is surely going to be a hassle.Lastly, I have some doubts about the tilting mechanism being made of plastic and one of the screws doesn't screw in properly.Overall, I'm not a huge fan, but I will be keeping it as I pretty much got what I paid for.UPDATE:I've had this for 2 months now and so far it's holding up better than I initially expected. The issue with the legs is still present, so I've yet to find a solution to that, but the tilting mechanism is holding up very well with no issues. I've also found a carrying bag that fits the stand inside, so it's less of a hassle to carry around now.In addition, Neewer contacted me via email offering a partial refund for the trouble. Other companies, take note. THIS is how you do customer service right.Updated from 3 stars to 4.

Perfect for boom or hair light
I need a good sturdy stand for a hair light or a sometimes a boom light. This one is perfect for that. I do add a sand bag or two on the bottom of the stand to be on the safe side.
