Hem & Seam Men's Stretch Slim Fit Waistcoat, Black (Black Black), XX-Large
I was asked if I’d like to review the Hem & Seam Men's Stretch Slim Fit Waistcoat, Black (Black Black), XX-Large, and I said yes. This is a lovely waistcoat, which is well made, and the stitching is finished off properly. It has two false pockets at the front, has two side straps, (which can be altered due to the buckle that’s at the back). It’s got 5 buttons on the front, (plus a spare button inside), is fully lined inside, (and back). You'll find it’s made from 68% Polyester, 30% Viscose and 2% Elastane. Cleaning instructions are dry clean only. You could wear this as part of a suit or just wear with a shirt and trousers. The waistcoat looks well when on.Fit wise it’s a regular fit, so a word of warning, if you’re not flat stomached you may have trouble with this fitting properly.I can recommend this waistcoat.

well made
No doubting the quality of the waistcoat, it has a good cut, material is good, and has a well cut fit.The size is okay, I would go one size up and use the straps on the rear to adjust as required, mine is tight. The design is plain, very much a suit waistcoat rather than a fashion waistcoat, I wear them at events I organise but they tend to be fashion ones with a tweed jacket or similar, this isn’t something I’d wear. It reminds me a little of a waistcoat we got our son for a wedding from a cheap high street store, for under £10, but it wasn’t anywhere near as good quality but it is worn under a jacket most times.I do like it but its not really for me as something i’d personally buy.

Very good finish. Beware of slim fit
The design and finish on this waistcoat are excellent. The seams are strong and well-machined. The buttons are of a decent quality and are sewn on well. The material looks and feels high quality. Altogether, it's excellent value for money, and will spruce up a more formal outfit or add a new dimension to smart-casual. Note that my example was quite a black black. You just have to be a bit careful on sizing. It really is 'slim-fit'. It doesn't magically make anyone slimmer! Personally, I found it tight. I have wide shoulders and chest which meant I should have gone for extra-large. If you really are already slim, the sizings should work fine.

Looks good
I generally fall in between medium and large clothing sizes. This is definitely a snug/slim-fit medium. It looks good on me (if I do say so myself!) and is a near identical match to my black M&S suit, so I’ll be using again soon, especially around the festive season. The fabric feels good, and the cut doesn’t sleep very into my armpits either. I’ve not needed to adjust the rear strap to fit me, but it operates smoothly. If you’re you’re a guy with a bit of a belly, then you’ll either want to suck it in (not recommended) or get the larger size. I wouldn’t class myself as slim, but wearing this is snug against my belly.

Definitely a slim fit
This waistcoat is well-made if basic, but it doesn't pretend to be anything else, so that's okay. Stitching all good, finishing all good and sizing is accurate - don't be taken in by the mention of 'stretch' because there's none. Chaps with slim waists but broader shoulders will need a larger size. Otherwise this fits as it should. It's as plain as can be but often that works and looks good with a black suit or as a contrast with a lighter colour.A decent and affordable garment.

Smart, Well Priced, Fits Well
If you're looking to get in on the waistcoat fad, this is a nice, low-cost way to get started. Good fit, good price, and add a smart touch to any trouser and jacket combination. Be warned, though, you might end up with an expensive habit...
