So I got this speaker for myself in 2022, and was very impressed with its quality for its price. Last year, my teenage son was borrowing it and was using it outside with some of his friends. One of his friends threw it on the roof, where it stayed until today. I live in North Carolina, so since it had been on the roof, it has rained, snowed, we’ve had sleet, it’s been hot, and below 20 degrees.When I got it off the roof today, I tried turning it on just to see what it would do (mind you, it hadn’t been charged in months). To my amazement, it turned on, and when it said “power on. Bluetooth mode” it sounded clear as a bell. So I connected it to my phone. It connected immediately with no issue. I then played a song on my phone, and the music coming out of the speaker was just as clear as always whether the volume was up or down. Also, there is a protective cover that protects the charging port, and USB. My son had torn that off before it ever ended up on the roof.I’m not saying this speaker is totally indestructible, I’ve never seen what it would do after being submerged, and I don’t intend to press my luck, but it has earned a 5 start review from me to be sure.

I bought my first FX100 in July of 2017. When it finally died the other day, and I looked up the original order, I couldn't believe it had actually been that long.I had used it everywhere, rain or shine, for everything. The massive battery life was amazing, and it spent the last several years strapped to my bike, taking it off just once in a while to recharge.Are there speakers that sound better? Yes. But for its size, weatherproofing and ultimate portability, you just can't beat it. One of the great features is the microphone that allows you to have phone conversations over the speaker. People on the other end always said they heard me loud and clear.The new one arrived today. It's very much the same, only updated. It's now USB-C charging instead of micro-USB. The unit now has voice prompts where there used to be beeps. The sound quality and weatherproofing/ruggedizing is exactly the same.I guess I'll buy another one in 2029.

I purchased this speaker for use in my manufacturing job due to its longer battery life, as it often requires being played at max volume to be heard over machinery and hearing protection. Non stop and at full volume, this speaker lasts a little over 5 hours, which is double the others I have tried, with the speaker being audible within about six feet. The flap protecting the charging port is nice and seals properly which prevents general factory crud from getting in. Sound is good and hasn't yet blown from the high volume. Size is great to clip to my lunch box, though I did need to replace the carabineer right away as it was lower quality. This is probably overall the best I could have gotten at this price point within my work's restrictions.

Purchased 2 of these Bluetooth speakers on 11/22/2023. One for my husband & one for myself along with the travel cases. Initially they both worked great as far as sound & clarity but after less than 1 year my husbands has had numerous issues from not holding a charge, so much static that you cannot hear the music & now it won't turn on. Very disappointed with the durability & performance of this speaker. Electronics should last longer than 11 months. I would think twice before purchasing this product.

Overall I like the speaker but compared to my last one that I could literally throw in the lake and let float next to me and it would project music to both sides of the lake, this speaker is a bit disappointing. It's normal setting is kind of quiet and the "outdoor" amplified setting is only kind of better. Honestly the whole "outdoor" setting is kind of pointless when you could just turn down the volume to where you want it and still have better sound. It works for personal use while I'm hiking or biking, but when I'm with friends playing volleyball or at a festival we all want to use other people's speakers that are louder.I would NOT call this speaker "waterproof." Water resistant? Definitely. The cover of the plug ports on one side is a simple rubber stopper that kind of just pops in a little, but I'm positive if I threw it in the lake it wouldn't keep the water out. I'm not even willing to try with this one.. If you want something that's gonna really serve you well in all scenarios I'd honestly just suggest finding something else.(Edit) The company contacted me and offered me a refund, then asked if a partial (40%) refund was okay which I agreed to. They were very accommodating and quick to respond, however this doesn't change anything about my original review.
