Flimsy plastic but no one is really using the saya for hitting, so it's good for what it was made for, holding a plastic sword, and for that it's great, had to do the smallest trim on the opening so it could fit the Cold steel bokken, after that it fits perfect

Great for what it is. It works well with polyurethane bokkens such as the Cold Steel one. It's obviously not a luxury product, but for casual practice and for casual aesthetics, it fits the bill. Only reason it's not 5 stars is that with shipping it's honestly a bit pricey. I'm not mad about that, it's a very niche product, and it's online, but it's a reality. I'm sure if you could source this in person it would be a better value. For the Cold Steel bokken, you'll need to trim the top so the overhang isn't there. Just use a utility knife, it will come right off. Obviously trim a little to start, you can always trim more, but you can't un-trim. It doesn't have to be perfect either, rather, you won't have it perfect, but it will be a snug fit when you do and perfectly good for what this is. If you want to step up beyond this you're talking getting full custom order, and that is much more expensive. If you get to the point where that is a serious consideration, then obviously you'd have outgrown this and wouldn't even look at it. But until you get to that point, this is precisely the type of starter gear a hobbyist would be content with.

Bought it for a bokken I had laying around, but turns out it also fits my Sigi Forge Katana for freeplay, so that's neat and a little exciting.

I thought it was for both sheath and broken. So it didn't fit my needs, the sheath is a thinish plastic, it isn't built like a wooden sheath.
