Better alternative to the Melitta
I bought this so I can use the Melitta brand filters instead of always having to order the Hario V60 filters online. I was surprised how small the #1 size filter is, but luckily the #2 filters will fit in the holder. The paper will stick out about 1 inch at the top as seen in other customer's photos. Based on using this myself, I would say the maximum amount you can brew with the #1 filter is 8 oz, maybe 9 oz. Any more than that and it will spill out the top. The #2 filter should give you a few more ounces than the #1. I will also say that this ceramic holder is much better made than the Melitta ceramic one (made in China) that I used to have. I ended up throwing it away because I was dissatisfied with the quality.

Yes, you can do an eight ounce cup
I bought this on a hunch that the "yes it can" faction of the reviewers here were right, and they were. Photos provided. For any doubters, I have, as of this writing, successfully brewed (4 times so far) 15g of beans, freshly ground, with 8 ounces of water, without any difficulty. Yes it seems smaller than necessary at first glance, but you have to pay a little more attention to your pouring aim (which is the whole point of the gooseneck kettle - to give you the extra precision and control required to do stuff like that) because you do have a narrower pouring area to aim for.But it is possible with relative ease, if, like me, you make pour-overs every day, and have a routine established, with steady hands. I'm certainly no barista at all, but I can make myself a pour-over that I am consistently satisfied and often delighted with.I showed two views of the brown 101 next to the white 102, and the other photo is 15g of ground beans in a #2 Melitta filter, which is in the brown 101. I hope this helps. The brown ceramic glaze is just as handsome in person as on the 102, which I previously bought, loved and broke. I am satisfied with this purchase. It does feel really small, but I found that I could manage it from the first try. I just paid closer attention until I got more comfortable.

Works perfectly for one cup of coffee
This is small, sturdy, and terrific! I use #2 Target brand filters - which extend above the dripper, but that does not matter…the water is not going to fall out the sides! I microwave 8 oz of water in a Pyrex measuring cup, then pour in slowly. The dripper fits over any cup I use. Because of the nice weight it is less likely to tip over than my previous plastic dripper.

Very beautiful, too small for 10oz cup of coffee
Very beautiful, too small for 10oz cup of coffee. Not all cup can be used- the bottom part of the dripper a little small also, but you can find the cup for it. May work for someone who drinks 6oz coffee. The quality is exceptional. Hate to send it back.I also ordered Kalita 102. The description mentioned 2-4 cups, but I use it for one cup. Love it!!!! The same issue with the bottom.Give it 4 stars for the quality.

"World's Okayest Coffee Brewer" Too small!
Too small! Only brews 160ml/6 oz. of coffee at a time. I didn't read the fine print, and meant to order the 102, which will make 1 to 3 size cups of 6-8 oz (600 ml) max. Not worth returning as shipping is half the price of the item. Time to re-gift, perhaps to someone who likes coffee, but not that much.

cheap, perfect.
excellent thickness, sturdy , fast drainage with 3 hole.also looks high quality. actually it is bigger than i expected. you can brew 20-25 gram coffee with no problem. it fills one big cup. you dont need bigger models for one person. also no:2 filter papers fit well.

The quality is good, but I don't think it's much for coffee if you like a good strong cup. Maybe better for tea. There are 3 large holes on the bottom. I plugged 2 of the holes and it was better, but still not strong enough for me. I will try something else.

I had been trying to get away from boiling our coffee in plastic in these "convenience" machines. Took a chance on this and once you figure out how to use it, it is an excellent way to make "plastic-free" coffee that taste great and is much less expensive.
