It's the best!!
Great value!! It's exactly the same as some of the more expensive offers here. Higher price doesn't mean better flavor!! They're fresh an amazing flavor!

Addictive
This licorice is addictive, so good. My husband and I cannot get enough. I think this is our third huge bag.

Defective packaging
The product is good the packaging is not very robust. Twice I have received it with the pagaging split open wheels all over the inside of the box.

A very nice product. 5 stars
I was a little reluctant to buy this product after reading some of the reviews but I took a chance on it anyway. Glad I did. They are excellent. I can't see any other brand tasting better. It isn't exactly what I was looking for but it was darn close. You see back in the day late 50's to early 60's as a kid I use to purchase penny candy. One of the candy stores sold what they called a Black Licorice Record and it resembled a black phonograph record. Reminded me of a LP record in a sense. It was flat black licorice all rolled up and in the center of it was a red hot candy. I have looked on the net on occasion for years but couldn't even find a picture of what I once knew. I did see the Black Licorice Wheels though on the net. Tired of looking for the other I found these on Amazon at what I thought was a very good price for 4.4lbs. I took a chance. So happy I did because taste wise they taste just like the the ones I purchased during the 50's and 60's missing the red dot candy. Maybe the manufacturer will think about adding that red hot candy to a batch of them and sell them that way. It kind of adds another flavor into the mix of things and makes all the difference in the world to someone like me.

For Gerrit J Verburg Company- TOTALLY HORRIBLE will never buy again- please see details/
I don't normally have a lot of time to write reviews BUT in this case- since I a still fuming over this- I am going to take the time to hopefully let the manufacturer Gerrit J. Verburg Co.know at least. My husband and I are real licorice and Haribo fans and since the Amazon price for Haribo black licorice wheels TRIPLED in just 2 months- and we are on a fixed income- we thought we would try these "lookalikes" It was truly HORRIBLE. I don't think we have had worse in our LIFE and threw the entire lot of two huge bags- bought because of our fixed income and trying to save some money so we can otherwise eat- into the dumpster. Not only did it totally lack any kind of real licorice flavor- it tasted like corn syrup cut with cheap molasses- and adding insult to injury was hard as a ROCK. I would have sent it back but it would have cost me $15 in postage and of course there was no return label. Black licorice is the only candy "luxury" we allow ourselves but it looks like we will be doing without from now on. Come on candy companies- do any of your CEO's even TRY the stuff you put out there as "edible"? Honestly? I don't know if I will ever even try your company again if this is this the type of product you put out. Absolutely disgusting.
