We get a lot of “stuff” on our shafts; skin oils from our hands, cue wax, powder, chalk, and many other contaminants. That “stuff” builds up and occasionally needs to come off.Every type of natural wood consists of grains or fibers with varying hardness or densities. Sanding wood by hand will remove the softer grains at a faster rate than the harder grains leaving a bumpy surface. This is obviously not what you’re looking for in cue stick. You want something much slicker.Cue Smiths, using a spinning lathe, are able to spread the pressure of the sandpaper over a larger surface area allowing the paper to remove all the grains with the same pressure and depth. Using a sanding block achieves the same function. The trick is to remove as little as necessary.Billiard Engineering’s accessories, specifically the “QuicSlick Shaft Maintenance System” is a burnishing / sanding block for your wooden shaft. Our abrasives are on a waterproof reusable micron rated film specifically selected to make sure the next abrasive removes the tiny scratches from the previous one. The result is a clean polished shaft every time it’s used. The QuicSlick, the perfect billiard accessory for any pool player. For proper care and a super slippy shaft:* Make sure your billiard, pool, or snooker cue is properly cleaned.* Start with the coarse paper and then work towards the fine paper to make the que shaft slick.* The finest paper acts as a burnisher, or polisher to get that slippy feel. This is NOT generic pool accessory for cleaning.
