I have a dog that goes from the back of my 2010 forester, to the middle, to the front. I wanted to put him in the trunk portion on the rubber mat in case he gets muddy or wet hiking and if I had to carry passengers. This definitely is not designed to do that, despite the photo and the picture saying “multiple uses.” Nope. It’s only to keep your dog separated from the very front seats. I’m bummed that I will have to return it. It would probably do the job of keeping a dog from trying to drive if that’s your only concern. Don’t buy it you need your middle seat for people.
