I am not a builder, carpenter or any other professional that would use a product like this commercially. I do however tackle different jobs around the house, some more complex than others. Therefore I do find myself reaching for my bubble level. While it works, it can be cumbersome, so I wanted to upgrade to a laser level, so I took the plunge a treated myself to Amston’s newest laser level. The camera type case it comes in makes it easy to protect and transport. The real test was ease of use and accuracy of the result. Amston gets high marks for both. The instructions were clear and concise, making it easy for a novice such as myself to use it in a matter of minutes. The posted pictures illustrate how I was able to hang pictures on different walls in my office without moving or adjusting the level. This may seem like a small thing, but it allowed me to hang the pictures a have them be perfectly level with a minimum of effort. A feature that I read about in the manual that seems like it could be useful, is the strong magnets that are provided on the bracket the level fits into. These will make it easy to attach the level to any metal surface without a tripod. I strongly recommend though, as does Amston, that you purchase a decent tripod.

This laser level can be used for a myriad of common household applications. It’s not cheap, but it is just affordable, and has robust features and as well as durability. There is also a 2 year warranty available. In addition to being self-leveling, with bright horizontal and vertical lines, this model features a fast connect bracket and mounting system that allows for mounting easily and securely on multiple surfaces, either with the magnetic base or the sturdy clamping bracket. The laser beam range is up to 100 feet, with accuracy of plus or minus 1/8 inches. A nice added feature is the locking pendulum that makes it possible to set angled lines which are often required in decorating projects. Installing wainscoting on the stairs becomes a pretty easy task. The GM-100 is also small, and weighs just less than 1 lb. If being considered for outdoor use the high IP54 rating would most likely allow this tool to be used in those elements where the highest rating is IP67, the most dust and water resistant.

I'm far from a pro builder, which hopefully makes my review useful for people. Just received it via UPS and have already spent some time playing around with the level. Obviously having a quality laser level is a must for a handy-man (or someone who thinks they're handy anyway), but I think maybe the best part about the Amston level is the accessories, and multi-use functions. The ability to mount it in different positions has already been useful and you can just tell the quality is good. I can't really think of a job I won't be able to use this on. And maybe it doesn't seem all that important to a pro, but I really like the case. I spent way too much time trying to track down bits and pieces to all of my tools. This carry bag has plenty of room for all of the accessories and I won't lose anything. Looking forward to continuing to use this thing.

Fabulous instrument - so easy to use right out of the box. Beautifully designed, well engineered, and ruggedly constructed. The additional year of warranty protection just for logging in and registering is icing on the cake. Plus the additional items in the kit, and the great carrying case? Even more icing.Love the multiple functionality (Cross Line AND Plumb Bob Dots). I've already used the plumb feature to properly position hanging lights over a 10-foot long granite counter - what a breeze!The manual is well written and explanatory, but you can be productive with just the "Quick Start." Grab it, turn it on, and go. A clear winner.

Like the design and color on packaging with clear information.The carrying case is a good design, size and padding with divided area.Most importantly - The instrument has substantial weight, well made, not chintzy.The lights are as intense as any really expensive laser I've used.Very crisp on the red index card. Very nice piece. I would recommend this tool.

I ordered this tool for my husband. When it came unfortunately there was an issue and it would not stay on. We contacted the company through email and after they suggested a few tips and it still didn't work they immediately sent us a new one. The new one works great and my husband is very happy!

As long as the item has a good life span it'll be just what I was looking for.
