The C-Note speaker kit delivers a lot more than the price and size suggests. We have done everything to keep costs down without sacrificing quality. This compact speaker pair provides extremely flat response with much lower end than you would expect from a speaker this small. In addition, the C-Note’s controlled dispersion delivers pinpoint imaging with a surprisingly wide soundstage. Review: No brainer - Pair these with a sub and you will never look back … great kit !!!! Review: Full clean sound - wish we had spent more time finishing the cabinet - These speakers sound much better than anticipated. With a bit of fiddling and learning through the youtube videos, we were able to make these sound great. They are currently running through an old Harmon Kardon 25w stereo receiver, but could easily handle more power. If we had known how clean and pure these would sound, we would have spent more time in constructing the cabinet. The visual aesthetics of the final product are much lower than the audio quality they output. We did not use furniture clamps to square up the boxes - they were only a few mm off of square when we built them. I thought we could smooth out the misalignments with sanding and putty before priming and painting, but every imperfection in assembly shows in the final paint layers. For our first speaker project, it was an overall success.

Sound Quality Vs Building fun
Everything was about as expected with this project. However, I have read other reviews that compared the sound quality of these to a $300+ pair of bookshelf speakers. I can say with certainty that the sound quality of these is nowhere close to my Alpha B1's from PSB.(a $300 pair of bookshelf speakers). If all you are after is pure sound quality(and you have no interest in the building aspect) I would reccomend getting an entry pair of bookshelf speakers from Polk or something along those lines. You will get better sound for your dollar.

Fun little project for the kid!
This was a project for my daughter. Sounded good. Fit up was excellent! Matched these speakers with an Aiyima D03. Pretty Awesome combo!

do not expect greatness
bought the kit for winters boring months, took a couple of weeks to assemble, took lots of time, sound quality is on par with other $100 speakers, fun to build tho...

Wow. Just. Wow.
The sound you get out of this speaker kit is truly exceptional. The C-Notes, when built correctly, sound like speakers 5x as expensive. You won't need any special skills besides the ability to watch a YouTube video and follow simple instructions to put together your own speakers. One note: You'll need to buy binding posts separately. That one component isn't included. Amazon has a TON of great options. But knowing that on the front end will save you some time waiting on them to get sent to you, rather than finding out the hard way. They're worth the wait, though, because the sound is just killer.

Very pleased
The quality of these speaker has me relistening to music with great pleasure at the presence of the sound. A true value. I did buy circuit boards available on ebay for the crossovers.

Great speakers for under $150!
I have built a few sets of speakers and bought a good deal of components through Parts Express. I wanted a pair of bookshelf speakers for my home office and am a woodworker so these sounded like a great fit. I modified the design boy cutting down the front baffle (taking of the vertical radius) and mounting flush in the cabinet. The crossovers were easy to assemble ( soldering experience helps) and the speakers went together easily (used glue and a brad gun since I was planning to use cherry veneer on the boxes). I have Elac Debut 2.0 6.2, and PSB Tower speakers in other rooms run with an ADCOM system and use a 50w hybrid tube/ solid state amp with these C Note speakers, not equal to my other system but AMAZING speakers for the money and a great project. I would recommend !!
