Update: My DVD player is still ticking after all this time, and I'm happy about that. But there is one thing I noticed. I have a specific set of DVDs (Living Single, New Detectives, and FBI Files) that won't play all the way though and work normally as it did when I first got it. All the rest of my DVD collections work fine in my power player (as I call it). And I still use it til this day as when I first bought it.Can I just say Synagy wins again. I already have a 9 inch portable DVD player from this company, and it's still ticking. I haven't had a single issue with that one yet. So I decided to choose this brand again because I wanted one with an even bigger screen (this one being the 10 inch). And I am completely pleased with both. I also like the fact that they're completely smooth and quiet. So if I were to recommend a portable brand that's quality while saving some money, it's this brand. Aside from the big brands like Phillips (which I have also in a 7 inch and it's still going too), Sony ect....The sounds is loud and the color on the screen is rich and bright.

I was torn on this one. I was on the verge of returning it. On one hand, it was a portable dvd player that was far and away cheaper than any of the other ones out there for its size and functionality, but on the other, I could not get the USB to work. Then I began researching the USB function. Surely it had to work in some way or why would they have included it. Then the company emailed me to check in on my purchase. I asked about the USB and got a response. Progress! It turns out the USB has to be formatted as FAT32 or exFat. The USB drive itself must also be 16 GB or less. It will not read anything larger than 16 GB. The final piece is that I have only been able to get VOB video files to work. I'm currently ripping and converting to VOB a bunch of my kids DVDs for a long car ride. I'm using a free program called XMedia Recode to convert the files to VOB. If anyone is able to get any other file types to work, PLEASE let me know! :)So, long story short, it is an excellent value for what it is, but it does take some tinkering if you are going to use it for anything other than DVDs.

Very impressed with this portable unit. I bought this for my husband who can no longer read books due to his eyesight. He does books on CD and was very happy with the sound quality and user friendly controls. I hope to borrow it on occasion for watching my DVDs when on vacation. Technology is fast moving making it difficult for us old timers to adjust, but this machine has made that transformation very easy and gives us confidence to learn all the other features it has to offer. The unit arrived on time and with much care from their shipping department. Everything was well protected and arrived in perfect condition. We are very happy and impressed with this purchase.

Not a good experience. I bought the DVD player for our Spring Break trip with our granddaughters. I received it in good condition removed it from the packaging and plugged it in to charge for the trip. I watched the video on how to operate it but when I put in the disc it wouldn’t work. The screen said open. I closed and reclosed the lid nothing. So then I held the lid shut firmly it started playing the disc. When I let off it it stopped and said open. Now I have a player I have to return and no DVD player for our trip tomorrow. So I’m really not a happy buyer.

I really wanted to like this DVD player since it was such a great price but it has some quality issues. First, when it’s folded flat, since the buttons for rewind fast forward are raised, the back of the screen presses on them and causes the movie to randomly start rewinding or fast forwarding. Super inconvenient when you have it in a headrest bag and you’re driving. I took this on one trip and had to pull over several times to fix the dvd so my daughter could watch it. Also the usb worked once and only after I wiggled the flash drive, pulled it in and out several times and when I went over a bump, it quit and would not read the usb again. I also could not get the remote to work while player was in headrest bag. The buttons aren’t responsive so you have to push them several times before anything happens. It played dvds fine, but my main purpose was to use this folded flat and with a usb, so unfortunately I’ll be sending it back and trying a different brand. Picture and sound are good and shipping was quick

This DVD player worked great for about a month and now it skips no matter what DVD I put in it. I have it mounted upright on the headrest, it seems to work fine when it’s flat in your lap. I use it for my young child to watch and she is not able to hold it. It’s disappointing since I’ve only had it for 2 months.Can’t figure out how to contact customer service. Would love to exchange for a new one and give it another try.

This is a great little unit. I had never heard of Synagy, so i compared it to a number of brands that i know and trust. The reviews that jumped out at me were the ones written by parents about their kids using the product...dropped a number of time and it still plays! I watch my DVD’s with this unit sitting in my lap. It doesn’t need to be flat to work and if i drop it i don’t panic! It’s sturdy. I wish it played BluRay and i wish the volume could be louder, but those are my only complaints. I like this player and i use it a lot.

We purchased 2 of these as Christmas Gifts. We have used them a few times now and I like them. They charge pretty quickly and hold a charge quite a long time. We've been through almost 2 movies without having to plug them in. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they don't come with a case or way to attach to the seat back so my kiddos had to hold them... it would be a nice addition if the company would consider it.
