Q: can this be used with nuwave vacuum sealer bags?

Wonderful product. works much faster then my Foodsaver pumps. I bought one for a friend also. Haven't used Nuwave bags. Using a generic. Nancy Canoga Park, Ca.

Q: Can this work with the Foodsaver Freshsaver vacuum bags? My old vacuum failed and this looks very similar

This is a great vacuum sealer. I have owned it for over a year and seal canning jars and Freshsaver vacuum bags daily. I have never had to recharge it which is almost shocking to me. I had to keep my old Freshsaver plugged in to use it after just a short time because it would not even hold a charge for a minute. It creates a better seal than my old Freshsaver unit with any bag or jar sealer I have tried it with. For jars I use the FoodSaver Wide-Mouth Jar Sealer unit which I highly recommend.

Q: Do you have to wait for red light before you recharge, or if you finish before that can you just re-plug it?

For optimal battery life, charge the Handheld Vac 'n Seal fully before first use and whenever the pump sounds slow and labored and then charge fully. You can charge in between or interrupt charging to use the Handheld Vac 'n Seal if you desire.
