I bought these because my grandma had a checkers rug very similar to this. It reminds me of the one she had (not sure where it ended up since her passing and her belongs being sorted by her children). I wanted something I remembered her having and this is definitely one of them. Very durable, my own children love playing checkers and tic tac toe. She also had a set of chess pieces so I am on the prowl for those now to add to this set!

Great service

This has been a great family center point it's fun with both sides and large enough so people sitting around you can easily watch. Easily packed to go. Great value for price this has made my 5 years old learn very easy.

pros:-Board is very large, especially at the price-Love the grid letters and numbers. Perfect for a student of the game. This is a huge plus.-Backgammon board on the inside-when folded open, matches up nearly seamlessly (no gap).Cons:- Wood is very soft/not durable. Mine already has a dinged corner and I have had it one day, and haven't dropped it or anything. No polyurethane coating or anything like that for additional protection.-latches are very thin/will bend easily.-The box isn't comes in is very thin cardboard/won't stand the test of time, which wouldn't be a problem if the wood weren't so soft.As a side note, I didn't read the description well and didn't anticipate that the surface would be a pasted sticker and not stained wood. I won't take away from the grade for this, but its still worth mentioning, considering the listing boasts about quality, but there is really nothing quality about it.Overall though, it is a chess board. It's looks will likely fade very quickly, but it will continue to function. I'm satisfied with the purchase, but not impressed.
