A Fantastically Colorful Experience
Bright. Colorful. Fantastic.Works just as well as my Philips Hue setup I use with my PC (Hue light strip, two Hue Plays, and a Hue color bulb), even better in some ways. Each light can do a gradient of colors (they can do multiple colors on the same light at the same time), which Hue only does with some of their newer and ridiculously expensive light offerings.I actually bought this Govee gaming kit for my 40in TV, because of streaming directly on the TV, so software based syncing solutions such as Hue or Hue's HDMI box doesn't work. The light strip is a little short to reach the edges of a display much larger than this kit is recommended with which to use, but either modifying the layout a bit (half circle or just a smaller one) and it back lights the TV plenty, especially with the two light bars near the edges. The light bars share a short cable that splits near the connector, which may not work for larger screen or other setups than the recommended (depends on orientation).Overall setup just required plaugging the lights into the camera, and the camera into an outlet. Download the app and finish setup over bluetooth (able to skip wifi setup if not wanted). Syncing lights with the disay took a second to figure out due to various options in the app, but found one I was satisfied using for movies.Lots of preset color options and scenes that look good.I'll likely go with more Govee lights in the future over Hue if the quality over time is maintained and no serious privacy flaws are discovered.

Updated: 3M double sided tape in mounting clips is trash
Update: I was contacted by Govee after they saw my original review and they sent me a new set of improved mounting clips, this is what I call great customer service. The new mounting clips are great. Overall this is an amazing product and I was really excited when I purchased it, and I'm pleased that it's working fine now after they solved my issue. THANKS AGAIN!!Original Review/Comment: I love this product, however, the mpunting clips keep falling off because the 3M double sided tape is trash, I have to set everything up every 24 hrs because the mounting clips keep falling off, it's just annoying. It's a shame because the lights are awesome. Now I have to improvise and see how I can get them to stick to the back of my monitor. I have a flat monitor, it's not even curved.

Frustrating but worth it
The media could not be loaded. Okay, so the product's main light ribbon is designed to be mounted on the back of your monitor. Unfortunately, that wasn't going to work for me. My monitor's backside isn't flat (as required) so I improvised. One thing I have realized with Govee's products is that sometimes you may be better off not following their instructions to the letter. So, instead of mounting it to my monitor, I mounted it to the underside of the glass top of my computer desk. There are several downsides to this approach, not the least of which is the plastic clips the give you are black plastic. But, oh well, I used them anyway and they seem to be holding to the glass surface. Another problem is the cable length from the ribbon was very short - only a few inches. So I ordered an extension cable (Usb-C female to male) and that worked. Note that Govee told me not to do this due to "the power problem". Of course, I did it anyway and it works just fine. They are based in Hong Kong and sometimes their support folks don't speak fluent English. So, I went through all of that and these lights are nothing short of impressive. The video I left here doesn't do the lights justice. They are very vivid and light up my apartment. They system is designed for gamers, but you don't need to be a gamer to utilize them. In fact, I haven't even calibrated the camera because I don't plan to use it that way. Instead, I chose the "Music" option from the Govee app and the light show is absolutely amazing to witness. Even though, really, I'm not using these lights the way they the were designed to be used, I'm extremely happy with the final product.A couple of areas I would like to see improvements on in the next version of this product. First, I'd like to see clear plastic clips (instead of black) in case other users, like me, can't mount them to the back of their monitor. Second, a longer power cord for the main light strip would be nice for the same reason. I mean, those gripes are minor. Going through the presets for this light is actually mega fun. And, you can program these things to your heart's content. Overall, worth the money, IMO.

This is meant for a 29” computer monitor and I made it work with my 60” TV
The media could not be loaded. If you jerry rig this thing it’s so worth it. I accidentally thought it would fit my tv but found out so quick it wasn’t meant for it. But that’s never stopped me before. And well I’ll be damned if you can’t make this completely change your household vibe. It works for what it’s intended I’m sure but if you have the heart you can make it work with anything

Easy setup - easy to modify.
Used it for a tv monitor that has a deeper set-in than they recommend but it's super easy to modify the setup a little and have it work. I love the new camera this one has compared to the early versions and the light bars really bring a great splash of color even if you can't space them as far as recommended. It's pricey but if you're on the fence definitely try it out. You'll likely love it.
