Hearthside Collection Burnt Ivory 4" Timer Taper

I purchased this candle along with the 6 inch candle,and while the 6 inch candle has been very good, there appears to be a design flaw with the 4 inch one. I received the larger one first, and it took two batteries. I put the batteries in, the timer started and it has been fine since. The 4 inch candle arrived a couple of days later. Since it is smaller, it only takes one AA battery instead of the 2 that the other one uses. The bulb is the same in both candles, which means that the one battery in the smaller candle has to light the same type of bulb as the other one. About a week later, I noticed that the 4 inch candle was not on. The 6 inch candle was on and doing fine. I unscrewed and re screwed it back. Nothing. I replaced the battery and it began working again. A week passed and I noticed that the 4 inch candle's light was dim, and then it went out. This time I tested the battery, and it was dead. The battery was a high quality brand from a new pack, and the same pack that I had used for the first battery in this candle, and the batteries I used for the 6 inch candle.My conclusion is that one AA battery can not power the same device that is powered by two AA batteries. The battery dies in about a week. It is a beautiful candle and I wish it worked better, but I do not want to go through batteries that fast.

I went to a flea market years ago and found these type of candles. They were much more expensive than these. I wanted to get some more so I thought of Amazon. I found these. Just like the ones I bought at the flea market but a much better price. I love the way they flicker and they last a long time. I have had mine in the candle holders for a few weeks and they are going strong. It is a great decoration to look at night and not have to worry about soot blackening your walls and ceilings or the fire hazard. The timer turns it on every day at the time you set it. You set it by just putting the battery in and screw the bottom cap in place at the time you want to have it come on every day. It automatically comes on every day until the battery is spent. These only take one battery per candle and are long lasting. I am very satisfied!!!

These are awesome candles. I love them, especially the timer part. I put them inside my China cabinet and they look really pretty in there. I have them set to come on every evening at 5:00. A lot of nights I wouldn't have thought to or wouldn't have wanted to bother opening the glass door to turn them on but with the timer, they automatically come on. It's always a nice surprise to see them come on and we can enjoy them every night without the hassle of turning them on or remembering to shut them off. The automatically go out 6 hrs later, So for me, there on every evening from 5:00-11:00. I've had them going every night since I got them and the battery hasn't even started to die yet, they're just as bright as they were the first night.

My candles have just arrived. I can say the delivery time was quick and I appreciated that. However, there is not the stand that is in the photo, nor do these candles stand well on their own. The faux wax finish makes the bottom uneven. The candle body is only 3", so the 'flame' adds the other inch and the thickness is about the size of a man's thumb, not the hearty candle pictured here. I don't care for the antiqued wax covering the flame portion. It simply looks dirty and it would give a bit more light without it. The product was made in China and I may not have bought it if I had known that first. It remains to be seen if these candles self regulate 6 hours on, 18 off, night after night The construction appears to be very simple, so I have my doubts. I don't like to be a complainer, but I'm surprised the other comments were so positive. I rated this product 2 stars because I had in mind something more substantial but I will keep them for a holiday display if the timer works as advertised and if I can find a way to make them stand without the added expense of holders.Overnight, I've decided to return these candles. I won't test the timer, so I can't report on that, but it will take too much 'fixing' to make them attractive.

I have searched for these for a long time...found my first set in a collectable store years ago...they still work...these are even better because they have a timer!

Looks great and the timer works so far but I have only used it a couple of days. I'm attaching a picture of how I used it in a half gallon blue antique mason jar. I took off one star because the bottom of the candle is so fat that I had to cut some of it away to fit in it a standard size taper candle holder. It is so pretty though!

These look really cool, however the lights and timer don't actually work well. I bought four of them. The first day they all lit up and turned off on time. From the second day on there is one that doesn't light up at all, one that comes on in the morning for a few hours then turns off, and the other two come on and turn off at the time I originally set them to (in the evening). It's frustrating, especially at this price! I don't think they should charge so much for something that doesn't really work all that well.
